Thrive Architect Users: Thrive is costing me money - solution?

I've been using Thrive Architect for some of my sites for over 2 years now and I do like it (for the most part), mainly because it eliminates having to use many other plugins that I would normally use and it doesn't seem to bog my sites down like WP Bakery/VC and other page builders seem to.

Problem is, I have a site that I am trying to sell and so far 2 hot buyers stepped down from purchasing the site because I use thrive architect - they don't want the to forced to use a page builder. Page builders are frowned upon by those that have coding skills or have some they pay for their coding needs. My site has over 1,000 pages/posts of content and moving out of Thrive is no small endeavor. One of these buyers actually paid me because I failed to disclose the Thrive page builder. But hours later he found out and complained, so I refunded him. Luckily I had not pushed my domain to him yet.

Basically, my decision to use Thrive Architect (or any premium page builder) is costing me money by decreasing the amount of potential buyers of my site.

Is there a solution for this? I mean, is there a way to convert a Thrive site into a non-thrive site other than copying and pasting all the content from every single page/post?

I have a feeling I know the answer to this question but I thought I'd try to find other Thrive users that have been in my situation before I start the arduous process of copying and pasting all my content out of Thrive pages/posts.

What exactly is the added cost? Is thrive a one time site fee under $100?

What types of sites are you selling? Obviously, they must not be making much/any money if they don't cover a nominal yearly fee?

Unless something has changed with Thrive. I haven't used them since I stumbled across Elementor.

Go have this guy on Fiver install Thrive that lasts forever for $10 and sell them the site without them having to worry about it. Or, once they buy your site have them buy it.

    It's $10 that's it.

I'm not an aff on this, I'm not even sure if you can aff Fiverr.

There is no easy way to fix that. I ran into similar issue years ago with Divi. I use Thrive on few sites now, but if site will be sold, then I would suggest using content builder that does not destroy site if removed, for example Beaver Builder: https://kb.wpbeaverbuilder.com/artic...builder-plugin or Elementor: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/...ll-my-content/

Edit: Ok, I just tested on one of my own sites, and in fact Thrive seems to leave most things alone when removed. So only Divi messed with content. Few things Thrive made hidden once I disabled it, but very, very few. So disable Thrive Architect and look at your content before and after.

Edit: The suggestion above me involving $10 Thrive Builder is piracy. Up to you whether you use it or not, but if I was buyer and noticed that key plugin on site was pirated, I would not be happy and would initiate refund. Basic Thrive Membership costs $19/mth, and while using nulled plugin might be legal due to GPL licensing it is guaranteed to be bad for your reputation.

Actually, that's what I thought at first. Then I saw that the Fiverr seller has an agency license (I don't think Thrive sells the agency license anymore because of this abuse but I know they did 2 years ago when I bought Thrive Architect). So he is allowed to resell thrive installs and it probably isn't a nulled version...assuming he's telling the truth about having an agency license.

HOWEVER it is against Thrive's licensing terms to sell TA for less than what thrive is selling a single site license for, which is $67 right now. Or at least the whole sale price of your service(s) needs to be $67. So you could sell a site setup with Thrive Architect and as long as the whole package is no less than $67, it's within license terms. So that Fiverr seller could get his agency license revoked since he is selling his "service" for less than $67.

      1. You cannot charge less for your service that includes Thrive products than those products cost (e.g. a site setup fiverr gig that includes a Thrive plugin installation is not allowed).
In the event of a breach, we reserve the right to cancel your account immediately without refund.
So basically, if he gets caught and Thrive shuts his license down, all his Fiverr customers might lose their access, too, as I presume their copy uses the agency license # of the agency license holder. Not sure. Either way, I would not bother referring someone to such a "service".

Anyhow, thanks for your useful post, Vex Vane.

You say it's Thrive Architect, but you don't mention any of the other add-ons you can use with Thrive. Architect is free. What is that you prospective buyer would have to pay for? If it's, say, their opt-in plugin that can be replace with numerous free options, and so on. If you purchased a theme from Thrive then it belongs to you can sell it without any problems.

I guess it depends on how much profit you're going to make on the sale if you need to spend time replacing stuff.

Thrive Architect isn't free and as far as I know they don't even have a limited free version like Elementor and others do.

Not possible, you will have to recreate all the pages probably, optimize press is a good one thats not monthly.

Its not really expensive as I use Thrive, they aren't serious if they are not willing to be running costs of a blog.

Well, it used to be. I guess we early adopters were lucky. Still, it only costs $67 per site. Include the cost in your selling price. It seems like a rather petty complaint on the part of your potential buyers. If they like to code their own they can do so. Just leave the Thrive pages as is. What's the big deal? Not complicated for you to copy and paste code without using the Thrive imprimatur. Just very time-consuming for 1,000 pages. If you can hold out for other offers, I would do so. Just my 2 cents.

The difference between the mentioned page builders is the Elementor is great for creating an online presence while Thrive says it is better for "building a website that will convert more visitors into leads, clients, customers, and lifetime fans". For those interested in a comparison of Elementor and Thrive here's page to check...
