Need advise on product interest and best ways to market

I have a product that displays Google Analytics traffic stats right on your desktop for any and/or all sites you run. Basically, at a glance type of stats for your high level traffic (e.g. pageviews, source/referrer, landing pages, etc.)

Questions:
1. What about this idea is interesting enough for you to want to buy (i.e. why would you want this)?
2. What about this idea is NOT interesting for you to buy (i.e. why would you not want this)?
3. What would be the best way to get this product to your attention? Are cold emails still a viable outreach? Would this be a better fit through advertisement banners? What about YouTube videos?

Thanks for you help!

  • I don't use Google Analytics very often, but if I am understanding you correctly, then this product would seem to sell well.

Or maybe it could be free and you could generate ad revenue from it.

As far as marketing the product.

    Do you have a following?
Do you have an email list?
Have you tested the products with others to see how it works and if they like it?

Youtube ads, Facebook ads would be my first thoughts. Maybe reaching out to some big-name marketers and have them try it for free, if they like it maybe they can give you a shout out or give you a review.

Maybe do some interview on YouTube with some of these marketers.

Try to socialize your product on social media.

Nearly two-thirds of American adults use social media now. It should be used

You can use popular social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, LinkedIn, Google Plus and Snapchat. Each of these social media platforms are unique in its own right and require unique ways of engagement.

When you search around the internet, do you encounter people who would want this kind of service? Is there a niche for this already, or are you trying to create a niche for this? All that matters is the starving crowd. Doesn't matter if you got it on Youtube, Google Ads, forums, etc.

If you found a relatively large group of people requesting this kind of product/service, then i would say do it. But if you have to scrounge around online scrape up leads from place to place... i would say dont sell it - and just move on to something else.

The bigger question is what would the backend product(s) be?

  • Main Take-Aways: Gather significant niche market data. Build up your ideal audience profile. Shortlist relevant places and apps for your promotional objectives. Create a sales funnel that's aligned to your monetization strategy ...

    • Sounds like a tool for webmasters, content publishers, online business owners and affiliate marketers with niche sites.
-- So that's your target market; and
-- You can niche this down further, i.e. Beginners, residents of X and Y countries / regions / cities / towns / etc., those who focus on X and Y niches / industries, members of X and Y online communities / social groups and so on ...

A: It provides a quick and convenient way to analyze traffic stats.
    • But your target audience's likely to have these questions:

-- Is this a Web app? (a tool hosted in your remote server providing accessed through a Web browser while connected to the Internet)
-- Or is this a local app that needs to be connected to the Internet? (for Windows / Mac / Linux / iOS / Android)
-- Do I also need to install a script in my remote server?

A: Other tools might already be out there, some of which are free.
    • Possible questions of your target audience are:

-- Isn't this something that's already provided by Google in their Webmaster Tools dashboard?
-- And aren't Web hosting providers already offering similar tools in the admin panels of their server subscriptions?
-- Plus, isn't there already a free plugin for widely used CMS that already provides this feature?
-- Or do other relevant tools like keyword metrics analyzers and so on already offer this as part of the feature sets of their products?

A: Answering the questions below might help guide you.

    1. Do any of the options below define your monetization strategy for this product?

    • Paid App: Sell this for a one-time price or for a low recurring monthly subscription with support, and also profit from additional sales for other relevant products (yours or as an affiliate) once you have a user base;

    • Freemium App: Pitch this product as a free app with advertising placements, profit from ad revenues, profit from in-app purchases to unlock other more useful features (one of which is to get rid of ads), and also profit from additional sales for other relevant products (yours or as an affiliate) once you build a user base; and

    • Free App: Use this to build up a user base by promoting it as a completely free product, optionally integrate advertising placements to profit from ad revenues, and also profit from additional sales of other relevant products (yours or as an affiliate) once you build a user base ...

    2. Does your niche market data indicate that your chosen monetization strategy for this product is feasible for your target niche market?

    3. Is your target audience profile telling you that the beneficial features of your product are aligned to the relevant needs of your target audience at the moment?

So if you answered yes to the two questions above, then your options for promoting your product across your ideal niche markets are:

    1. Advertising Placements -- Identify platforms with marketplaces where your target audience hangs out to discuss relevant topics, to search for relevant products and to collaborate with others for relevant ventures; and

-- These are niche Web forums (yeah, like the Warrior Forum and others), niche social groups (lots of Facebook and LinkedIn groups out there that cater to the relevant needs of your target audience) and niche content publishing platforms (many blogs, Youtube channels and so on cater to the relevant needs of your target audience) ...

    2. Organic Content Placements -- Explore paid and free opportunities in the places and apps mentioned above where you can publish content and hang out with your target audience;

-- For example, you can engage in meaningful discussions with your target audience here and in other relevant niche forums / social groups; and

-- You can publish helpful posts in blogs and social media pages (yours and others), videos (your own niche channel and / or those owned by others in relevant video repositories like Youtube) and other types of content in places and apps that cater to the relevant needs of your target audience ...

    • Your objective is to position yourself (your brand) across the relevant places and apps where your target audience is found as an expert creator of helpful products and meaningful content ...

    I hope this helps.

Given the other kinds of products out there and the ultimate value proposition your product offers (convenience), your best bet would be to give it away as some sort of LEAD MAGNET

The real money is in the LIST
