Meta Keyword tags in 2019?

I have read somewhere google stopped considering meta keywords long back. But so many websites are still using it. OK its for other search engines. But still some experts online says it effects google rank. Can anyone share a clear picture or any case study to make it clear.

    Meta keywords stopped being a ranking factor with the major search engines well over a decade ago (closer to two decades ago). Sure, many CMS platforms still have that field so that they can say "see ... look at the stuff you have control over!" (useless stuff, but stuff nonetheless). There may be a couple of really obscure search engines that still use them, but none that anybody actually uses.

    Oh, and the biggest reason to NOT use meta keywords is that anyone (i.e. your competitors) can easily see the keywords you are targeting by simply right clicking and viewing your source code where those meta keywords show up clear as day.

    Meta keywords are not a ranking factor in my opinion, but they help search engine decide about what the page is trying to convey so its best to use them but if you skip it then also its fine.

    Yes, it's not useful or I say a possible "Factor" for rankings, so even you don't use, it hardly gonna matter.

    Actually, it's solid that Google doesn't consider Meta Keywords as a ranking signal.
    I heard it everywhere. But as an old habit, I still use them for homepages!

    DON't bother to think about meta keywords at all!

    Google has stopped considering Meta Keywords as Google Ranking Factor. If you want to use it then it's ok as it will tell what the page is about.

    If you are not using Meta Keywords, then there is no issue.

    Truly, they do, yet not all Meta tags can help you in 2019. ... (See underneath: There are a couple of tags, we can consider them the awful Meta tags and we ought to just disregard them.) Meta Tags can influence the manner in which that clients see your site in the list items and regardless of whether they really navigate to your site.

    As others have clarified, do not waste your time on meta keywords...Instead focus your efforts on the meta tags below:

    - Title Tags
    - Header Tags (H1, H2, H3, H4 etc.)
    - Meta Descriptions (not a ranking factor but indeed helps with CTR)
    - Image ALT Tags

    Combine this with quality optimized content and building natural links and this gives Google a strong signal what you're trying to rank for.

        Title tags when looking at the page source are wrapped in meta HTML, so yes they are meta tags. The problem is everyone calls/classifies them as something different...Which really doesn't matter.


        And yes H1, H2, H3 etc are header tags/headers. Again, it doesn't matter what people call them, what matters is they're optimized properly.


        Image ALT tags? Absolutely, this offers additional optimization for a website, and images get ranked in Google. Why wouldn't you optimize your Image ALT tags? Gives you a leg up on the competition.

    You must have read wrong.Or, clearly your we not reading expert opinions.

    Google never "stopped" considering meta keywords. How could they stop something they never started in the fist place?

    Nope, they never started, so couldn't stop what they never started.

    To be clear, Google has always ignored meta keyword tags from the outset. The original version of the search algorithm called "backrub" used other methods avoiding the keyword tag altogether.
