Better to use google and search for 'GDPR in India - quite a few articles and blog posts on the subject that specifically address marketers in India.

GDRP affects those who do business with EU companies - but India is also (or was) changing it's laws so it's wise to do some research.

Asking about EU law when you are in India and this forum is based in Australia - will probably result in confusion more than anything.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

Hello. I am not asking about India. I am asking about list building using squeeze page and market it in USA, UK or any country. As per most of the marketers, all suggest to make own list first to get sales. So all suggest to create that list by giving free reports etc in exchange of user's email addresses. My question is that person maybe from any country and not only from India. So can we then send them sequential mails?? Is it legit after GDPR??

I think another import question to ask is...

If you and your business are not based in the EU and you do not follow GDRP laws, what will happen to you and your business?

Do you get tons of emails promoting offers? Then that's your answer.

How do you do it legally?

To put it in plain english...You ask people to give you their email so that you can contact them. That's the on legal requirement.

If someone gives you there email address voluntarily, then you can legally contact them as long you allow the to unsubscribe.

You are bound by the law in the country where you reside first and foremost.

List building is growing with the popularity of text messaging and text messaging on Facebook in particular. Don't believe there are any GDPR restrictions with this

It is still alive and will remain always. You should care about warming your audience with value and they still buy from you. show them what they need and they will show you money.

This is the best response I've seen so far. Simple and to the point. Everyone still uses email for one reason or another. Even with getting bombarded with daily emails, people are still using this platform to get knowledge and communicate. It will likely stay like this for a long time. It's not a fad. Numbers show that getting someone to open an email is easier than getting their attention on FB or IG during the millisecond your ad is on their phone screen.

  • Email Marketing is still and will always be an important element in any business. If you can make a living off of email marketing alone than you must be implementing it into your business.

We are all subscribed to someone's email autoresponder, and I don't recall receiving fewer emails than I did before the GDPR was put into place, did you?

Build a list, and treat it the right way.

I think It's still alive for 2019, as An email list is a collection of email addresses that a business can create by engaging with potential customers through lead-generating campaigns. Email lists can shrink as members opt out of email subscriptions, and grow as the business solicits contact information from website visitors...it's a powerful tool for marketing era.

Do your research, disclose onsite how you store user data and build an email list. List-building fundamentals remain constant; give subscribers an incentive to join, via a freebie giveaway meeting their needs, and you should do A-OK.

Yes, it is still legal. You just have to follow GDPR requirements for those in the EU.

I can report that list building is still alive and well (and will continue to be for many years to come).

Now, will there be more red tape and rules wrapped around it down the line?

    Absolutely.

But as long as you're fully transparent with leads before they sign up, there's nout to fear.

Plus, full transparency tends to translate into better subscribers because they know *exactly* what they are signing up for. It's also one of the reasons why I include a consent box on my squeeze pages. Not only does it keep GDPR well-fed and satisfied, but subscribers appreciate it too.
