Next steps in growing my website selling HTML templates

I'm a web developer and I built a website selling HTML themes & templates. Things are moving, sales are decent, but I don't know how to grow this business more.

I have an affiliates system in place but I haven't made it public yet.

I haven't paid for any ads or promotion, just submitted to ProductHunt and getbootstrap.com Expo section which is currently bringing in around 400 uniques a day.

Any suggestions on how to promote?

Ps. I don't know if I'm allowed to post the website url here...

Thanks

If you own the website you can list it in your signature or run an ad in the classifieds section

The templates I'm selling are niche kind of niche and are mainly for developers and small companies looking to build web apps.

I looking for a solution to grow the business organically.

Right now, from ~400 visitors, i'm making around $2k sales per month, launched 2 months ago.

I think the affiliate program will help you a lot, once you get that rolling you should be in good shape. I would spend some time on perfecting that before paid promotion.

There's always direct mail lol. Why not use paid advertising into the mix? Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads? Make your affiliate program go LIVE and see what happens there. Either these options or... automate what you're currently doing, then go into another niche and start selling something else.

You need to have a USP for targeted message to a segmented audience to set yourself apart from the competition, ex. HTML templates for food bloggers, or real estate agents, etc...

This forum would be a good source of traffic, also you could try bundling a bunch of templates and selling it as a WSO.

Unless you have a huge ad budget, there's no getting around developing a long-term content marketing strategy to build an audience.

If it is particular unique type of template, you can add marketplace like codecanyon and codeclerks as well

Copy other businesses that do what you do

    Yes, it's that basic

    How?

Do a backlink analysis of their sites

Do a social media scrape of their sites

Do a brand scrape of theirs sites

Just copy their traffic footprint and online visibility and you'll be able to do better than them

    Why?

You're copying SEVERAL of them... they are just winging it

    Thanks everyone for the responses.

    I will do the following:

    1. Create a blog section on which i will try to write some articles like Best 15 Material Design Themes and similar.

    2. Talk to a local SEO agency to help me setup some ads campaigns on adwords, fb, twitter and maybe take some advice from them on the promotion strategy.

    3. Create the affiliates section - which I already did... Although I don't know how to promote it yet. I did send out some emails to various tech related sites...

    4. For the free themes downloads i will add a social locker that requires a tweet, like or follow in order to unlock the download. Do you think this is a good idea?

and the most important one to me

    5. Continue creating new templates :-)

Do you think that I should purchase some sponsored newsletter spots or spots on buysellads.com?
