How To Do Google My Business without Google+ ?

Hi
I haven't ventured into doing Local Marketing yet, but I offered to help build content for my friend's website, along with basic On Page SEO. She is a tattooist and makes her own artwork and jewellery.

Her site was showing up nowhere in Google, and she told me she had tried to do "Google My Business" but only her 3 or 4 Tattoo competitors were showing on Google's map. So it appears thatshe wasn't able to make Google My business work properly.

I looked at how to set it up and found out that up to now you have to link it to a Google Plus account. I asked her and she didn't know this. She doesn't have Google +.

My questions to the Warriors is: How do I set it up for her, considering Google + is closing down in April 2019?

Should I go ahead and set up Google + for her (or get her to do it) and wait for Google to (hopefully) sort out the transition in April?

Or should I set up Google My Business another way?

Or should I wait til April for new tutorials to show up? She could do with being seen on the map ASAP.

Thank you

i think you should set up your business another way, because google+ is low range social network, and need to follow for new trends on web to grow business

You do not need a Google+ account anymore to set up a Google My Business data. First search for your business in Google Maps and if found claim it with a phone call or a postcard sent to you. If none was found then you can create a Google My Business data page. All you need is a Google account. I would recommend using Moz Local if you want to promote and rank locally. All you need to verify your business with them is to be listed on Google Maps/Google My Business or Facebook to be found. For $99/year you can input your business information to about a dozen core aggregator websites that provide the business information to hundreds of other websites out there. Another way to help with ranking locally is to have your business address and phone number listed on every page of your website.

  • In starting, Google had merged business listing and google+, but after that they again separated and Now Google+ is going to shut down.

  • HI
    Verify it on Google Maps.
    Log into your Google+ page.
Select Pages from the bar on the left-hand side.
Click Manage this page on the local page.
Click the sidebar in the upper left corner.
    Click Settings.
    Scroll to the Profile section.
    Click Connect a different page.

  • You don't need Google+ for Google my Business. You just need an email address. But for your GMB to be approved, you need to have your business verified.
