Product Licence Purchase Enquriy?

Hi have just received an email from someone asking if they could purchase the licence for my product to promote and use it in there sales offer. They are willing to pay a price for the licence but I haven't responded to the email yet.

Can someone please tell me what this person is asking. You'll have to excuse me, I'm not really sure what it means that they are willing to pay me for my product to promote it.

Here's the original email

I would like to purchase the licensing for your fantastic product to promote it and use it in my own sales funnel offer. I am looking for great products like this one. Would you be amenable to that? If so, how much would you want? If you would like to talk over the phone or internet prior to making a decision, we can do that as well.

    Commish, why are you asking us what someone means when they offer to talk to YOU on the phone? If you have NO experience in licensing, and what that means, then you are not at all ready to even consider the proposition. Decline and educate yourself before you go any further.

    He wants to purchase the rights to sell your product. There are all different kinds of licenses:

    - Resell rights
    - Reprint rights
    - Master rights
    - Private label rights
    - etc.

    Generally, you would give them a fee quote of say "$497" to purchase the rights to sell your product. Once they pay the fee, they can use your sales letter and product to sell on their website.

    Along with that you may have some other terms and rules that you will want to let him/her know about selling your product. You have to specify the degree level of rights that you want to give this person.

    Do a quick Google search about the different kinds of resell rights out there so you can possibly make a large quick buck before they become uninterested.

    I would educate myself first before I respond or just tell you are not sure and need some time to figure it out. I would possibly try and make him pay an up front fee then come to an agreement of a percentage of every sale he makes with it.

    Ask a flat one time fee which u think reasonable for Master Resale Rights and see how it works.
