Need Help , Animal Membership site

Hello Warriors .

Im thinking about starting a membership site for specific animal owners ( think about goat, horse owners) .

The challenge about this is that I have no idea what to include in the membership site .

My idea is to use a free/very cheap tripwire and remarket them to get into the membership site .

What do you guys recommend?
Your input is highly recommended.

I am guessing you are focusing on goats and horses because you know a lot about these animals? Taking care of them? Grooming? Feeding? Riding? Birthing? Racing? Biology? Illnesses? etc...I think the obvious answer on what to include in your membership site is quality content - videos, blogs, documents, case studies etc.

I might re-think goats and horses though. If members are going to sign up to your website, the chances are very low they will want information on BOTH horses and goats. Correct me if I'm wrong. Your traffic will probably be interested in either horses or goats. If that's true, the psychology will be that for whatever price you're offering, they will feel they can only benefit from half the membership and therefore may not see the value.

I would consider broadening the list of animals. Create content that satisfies a wide variety of animals. People often have more than one animal they like, but the combination of just goats and horses is weak.

    or...

Pick either goats or horses. Make the membership site specific to one of those niches and create content for that one animal. Remember, you don't need millions of people to become members. You can do very well with just a few hundred passionate fans.

I think you will see much higher conversions if you choose one of these strategies as opposed to selecting 2 seemingly random animals.

You have piqued my curiosity though on what you know about goats and horses, specifically...

They know to use them as an example because it would be unwise to reveal the real animal.

The challenge about this is that I have no idea what to include in the membership site .
Then you shouldn't be considering starting one.

I didn't realize they could just be examples. Can you imagine the chaos if the real animals were revealed? All Warriors would be selling the farm to get their memberships activated.

I agree with the above comment - if you don't know what to talk about - you shouldn't try those niches. There are literally thousands of good 'dog sites' already online - I belong to several horse groups and memberships and they are ALL run by experts in the field.

Unless you are an expert, you might want to reconsider the niche plan.

In that case you might want to partner up with an authority in that niche.

He'll focus on the content, and you'll focus on the marketing.

It helps big time having a "face" for the site instead of a generic membership site.

And I concur with your tripwire > recurring funnel model. I would also initiate with a lead magnet.

You should focus on one niche first , can start 2 sites on separate topics.
Now the things about inclusion is , you know about them right? get into some forums of related niche and see what people are asking , what their challenges and then prepare content accordingly.
BTW same forums could be a great source of Free and paid traffic in future so try to mingle with people there.

  • A popular type of training could be a week by week "what should I do/think about/buy/etc) for people who have bought their first horse/goat/brontosaur.

This training should of course start 3-6 months before people get the animal, with a thorough checklist explaining all the reasons not to get the animal.

Enough evil/stupid people buy animals as it is, so at least think about what you can do to lessen that problem.
