    • Sorry to break the "ice", commercial use us somewhere close to $300 per EACH account. Read the TOS. I too was blown away when I found it, however, cost-prohibitive.
  • I just use the free version and then upload them to tubemogul
  • Sandycmy:

Using the free version of Animoto for commercial purposes is a violation of their TOS. I'm sure you wouldn't want people abusing your promotions!

Don't use free Animoto to produce videos designed to earn you money, it is just plain wrong.

    • Hi Steven:

Got your point. Never Any Violation -- I probably didn't put the question in the right format - I was eager to see if any warrior members are using the service in a creative way. Had my questions before I decide to go to commercial version.

  • I certainly agree that Animoto I really cool.

I know someone using it and really great output.
  • Does anyone know of a software application that will do what Animoto does? I like Animoto videos, but I would like to get out from under their business model.

    • I like to use photodex - proshow producer. Very powerful...

      Photodex
  • Animoto has a nasty TOS. Violation of the agreement is an incredibly bad idea, and I wouldn't be surprised if they go after the worst offenders at some point.

The commercial license of almost $300 as mentioned is definitely an annual fee as well. So if you want your videos to stay live after the year and comply with licensing, you will have to renew the membership.

If you're doing video marketing and cranking out tons of videos, just use Sony Vegas, PhotoStory, Camtasia, or even Windows Movie Maker Then you own the videos...

Animoto is great if you're doing a personal project though. I made a very nice video for a Father's Day gift last year.
