An internet consultant says mobile converts better for webinars.

Hello Warriors,

My Fiancé hired an internet marketer and he's telling her that mobile converts better for webinars. Just wondering if anyone can verify if that's true or not. I have my doubts because the screen is so small to watch a webinar on.

Thank you!

I have two questions for you first:
    1. Does your site currently have webinars posted?
    2. Does your marketer have access to your analytics?
If the answer to both of those is "yes", it could be that your webinars specifically are converting better on mobile. I don't have data around the general consensus of webinar conversion, but I agree with you that it sounds a bit odd that webinars are better on mobile.
I would ask for a screenshot of your analytics so you can see for yourself the mobile/vs organic traffic on your webinars.

Giant red flag alongside a flashing red light...

Where did you find this person? What are their qualifications? Did you check their references? There are about nine million people online claiming to be everything under the sun, who don't have a clue what they are doing or talking about. Search on this forum and you will find many posts like, "I got a client, how do I do the job?" No joke or exaggeration. Search and you will find plenty.

Yup, "Who do you listen to?" is one of the most important questions in life.

That being said, the last two webinars I've watched were on my phone.

I don't watch many. These were hosted by people I knew, had at least a bit of a connection with, and wanted to make sure I showed my support by being there for. I had to watch away from my desktop because it was being used by someone else.

So I'm sure I'm not the ideal target market member, but that's been my experience.

I don't know about converts better, but I know from running thousands in FB traffic to webinars that the majority (70%+) of viewers are on mobile. More and more people are using their phones nowadays...

Hmm, I would say YES..it's true because. This is a reason why Instagram brought IG Tv because people are nowdays consuming more and more content through their phone THAN through desktops.

If you would ask a 23 year old guy like me. I have watched most of the webinaars on my mobile. As you know we are like a glue to our mobiles 24 hours. Instagram, FB, snapchat, youtube.

So If you are targeting people of my age. Then, as a user. Yes, we hang lot of times on your mobile. lolzz I would be a very good target (of my age 20 to 28 years) to sell some lifestyle product etc. I think this is why, the webinaars on mobiles are converting better.

Especially, if you are bringing traffic from, Instagram and Facebook. People of my age are the MOST HEAVIEST USER of these two platforms.

And, if you are targeting people above 28 years...then these platform are no so good..!

I think this will solve your query

That would depend on who the target audience is.

Younger people are on their phone/tablet a lot, so they'd be finding your link/getting it on the phone. If it converts at all, they'd be watching on their phone/tablet.

Among the older people, 60+, that I know, most do not do a lot on mobile... though they seem to be doing more this year than a couple of years ago and, it seems, they'll be doing more next year than this year.

Well, over 70% of your audience is on mobile these days...which means that 70% of your viewers should convert better than 30% of your viewers (if not, then the problem isn't mobile....it's your webinar or your design). You absolutely must optimize for mobile across your sites.

Now, the question is whether or not mobile converts better overall...which is a completely different question since we're talking about percentages instead of total sales. From the metrics I've seen from my clients recently, conversion rates are pretty close to even on PC, tablet or smartphone. I wouldn't buy too much into that other than remembering that your viewers will be around 55% phone, 20% tablet, 25% PC. With around 75% not on a big, beautiful monitor, you need to have simplicity in your designs and focus on mobile traffic.

One last thing- mobile views have increased every single year (since around 2014) and I was quoting 2018 statistics....mobile it more important today than it was last month. There will always be the few die-hards like me that view webinars on PC, but know that I'm in the shrinking minority.

OP never said anything about how their audience is.

But good point in your 2nd paragraph.

No stopping mobile, but my experience is that, with the exception of a phone call, nothing is 'better' on mobile. May be more convenient in many situations, but certainly not better.

Err, generally speaking, this is completely wrong. Generally speaking, STILL, at this time, desktop converts better than mobile/tablet across all industries and offers. Webinar viewership distribution is comprised of desktop devices, followed by tablets, then mobile phones. That consultant fails.

  • We can ditz around always 'bout WHERE & HOW you fling your promo out there.

End point is always the same ... either you bendin' ovah all prostitoot ... or figurin' a smarter position says WHAT?

Webinar -- for xxx persuasively yummy minutes -- says WHAT.

    Else'n it be TOAST.

ONCE you got WHAT figured between yusself & your audience, likely you can drop alla the WHERE, HOW, WHY & stuffs into the narrative to order.

Definitive article ain't nevah random, Sweeties.
