Over the last couple of days I have found a couple of amazing sites for the marketer and traveler. Just a little weekend fun for the warrior in you.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.

Here is a brief overview of TED

The TED Conference, held annually in Long Beach, is still the heart of TED. More than a thousand people now attend -- indeed, the event sells out a year in advance -- and the content has expanded to include science, business, the arts and the global issues facing our world.

Over four days, 50 speakers each take an 18-minute slot, and there are many shorter pieces of content, including music, performance and comedy. There are no breakout groups. Everyone shares the same experience. It shouldn't work, but it does.

It works because all of knowledge is connected. Every so often it makes sense to emerge from the trenches we dig for a living, and ascend to a 30,000-foot view, where we see, to our astonishment, an intricately interconnected whole.

I will do the other one tomorrow but for now watch the videos they are inspirational and please leave your comments as I would be interested to know what you think.

I would love to attend a TED. Would be a great mind-exercising experience. The one thing I miss from my days in uni is discussing all the engineering and physics ideas with my peers.

      Ted is great...

I first found TED via a link in the old forum to a Seth Godin talk on branding... been a fan ever since - every now and then, I pop along to watch a video or two.

If you can find them, look out for Randy Pauschman's lectures. Sadly he has passed on now, but his talk on time management and effectiveness helped me change my views on "keeping busy"

Thanks for reminding me of the great resource of videos at TED.

There are some great videos in there by Richard Branson, Seth
Godin, Malcolm Gladwell, Chris Anderson and even Tony Robbins.

I also enjoy watching videos at TED that are not directly related
to marketing. It's a good way of seeing things from another
perspective and thinking outside of the box.

By the way, the you can view a lot of the talks online and here
are lists by speaker and by talk subject:

    Best wishes,

Did you notice that poor fellow Tom. His name is spelled wrong -- Rielly. I thought your side of the tree had botched it up bad enough ;-D
