Hello guys,

Ok here goes, about 40 minutes ago i considered making an article directory I spoted this really good domain name (not so good after all you'll see why) but basically on godaddy during registration, i (stupidly) missed the part where you have to reduce the years of registration to 1 year, which is all i wanted it for because my funds are very limited at the moment considering the time of the year and month.

Long story short i clicked register and because my account was already linked with my paypal it charged automatically, i was thinking i got charged 10$ untill i got a reciept in my email for $54.32 which is all i have at the moment.. annoying

My question is what can i do? can i ask for a refund or something ? or has anyone got any ideas for the domain name whatever anything PM me if you have an idea or something...

Oh yea the domain name is : activebizentries.com

Thanks guys!

You can not ask refund. That is their policy. So basically you are stuck with this domain for next 5 years. So try to use it.

Put up a directory and develop a business directory for your local market.

I've always had good luck with them.

Try calling support, and explain you did not want to register for that long. It's worth a shot.

I don't know about Godaddy but with enom, I've had domains canceled, there's like a grace period where you can cancel it and they refund of like 3 days I think... so your best bet would be to contact them and explain the situation and they'll let you know what they can do better than any of us can

Ok, I'm not trying to beat you up here, but just some advice:

Learn from what you just did, and what you are saying. "good idea" is sticking out at me.

Yes, it might be a good idea, but what research did you do? Can you handle running an article directory? How will you monetize on it? Is your heart in it - or were you seeing dollar signs?

You have to take things like a business. Any successful business starts with some planning and market research and some short term and long term goals. Do you know what those goals and objectives are for your article directory?

If not, I would let it go. Start off on the right foot here. Create a game plan, take some time to investigate further what you are getting yourself into before spending money. It is too easy to spend and go onto the next thing.

Godaddy has pretty good customer support and I think that you will be able to explain the situation to them and they will take the charges off of your account. They will do it because they use a form of pretty much forced continuity because they upgrade services without your knowing

    Hi,

This happened to me, I once bought a .info name and had to pay like $20 or $30 for it, I immediately called them and they refunded my money.

Less than 5 minutes had passed.

Godaddy is tricky (their default is 5 years) but I love their interface.
