Buying sites from Flippant? Or is there a better Site to buy from?

Hello,

I'm thinking about buying some starter sites from Flippa for passive income.

Is this site still a good site to buy from? Is there a better site that perhaps does better vetting against scams?

There is only so much those sites can do to prevent fraudulent transactions. You need to do your absolute dudiligence before sending anyone money on those websites. There are ALOT of false income statements and "proof" or revenue. I would be extra cautious seeing as your are looking for a "few" "starter sites", meaning you're looking at purchasing the ones that are low cost and low revenue.

There's a broker called FE International that you can check out, they have a lot of listings and are pretty reputable. Also, you can use a 3rd party called Centurica to do due diligence and vet sites that you're serious about buying. It's worth the investment to be thorough.

Make sure to perform your OWN due diligence since most of the websites there are Junk scammy ones. (Especially Dropshipping & Ecommerce ones).

If you have your eyes on one, you can share it here and I'm sure we can help.

This is a very helpful idea. The OP might be leery for fear someone around here might scoop a good idea before he has a chance but also opening a potential website up for critique to many different eyes with varying levels of experience is a great idea.

You're better off just starting your own site IMO. As others have said in the comments, it's easy to get ripped off in this area especially if you're a newbie.

EmpireFlippers.com is a great place to buy websites from.

Have you ever personally bought anything from Empire Flippers? It seems like they want a ridiculous amount for whatever they're selling. I have seen their multiples as high as 35x gross.

I have never in my life seen a site sold for 35 x gross. First off, gross sales is never used as a multiplier. It is meaningless. Net profit is the only multiplier that matters. We have a site on our own website marketplace that is 4 times annual net profit but that's because it is a special site. Otherwise, most sites in our marketplace are listed at somewhere between two and three times annual net profit.

The highest I have ever seen is 4-5 times annual net profit and those type of websites should always be ones that sell their own OEM brand of products that are evergreen (i.e. they will always be popular - like a bowling ball), with super steady growth over a long period of time - at least 4-5 years.

Empire Flippers usually set the multiplier at 2-3 times annual net profit.

I was just on Empire Flippers 0.2 second ago and the first one on their marketplace for sale is listed at 34x multiplier.. the net (my bad, i'm sure there are gross) is ~84000 and they're asking over 2 million. I don't personally have experience with Emipre Flippers, I've never gone into detail on there prospectus but the numbers alone make me shake my head.

Actually, that listing is showing $82,224 MONTHLY net profit, which is $986,688 annual net profit. The asking price is $2,795,618. That is less than a 3x multiplier.

Unfortunately, as far as starters sites are concerned, Flippa seems to be the only one with plenty of choices. Empire Flippers and the rest of the brokers are big boys and they only work with established sites and be prepared to pay 20x earnings. TBH, you cannot expect much from straters sites and you still need to do your own marketing. Hit me up if you want to know more about Flippa cos I am a seller there and have much experience.

Flippa is good, but of course, the risk is yours to take. You need to go the extra mile to really do some research.

I think you will be better off starting your own blog. Most guys who claim to sell websites are marketers so they can tell you anything. So when you get carried away with their hype, you will lose money.

That's highly unlikely on Empire Flippers. Those sites are pretty vigorously vetted by them. They don't take the crap listings that Flippa so often does.

I'm not saying that all listings on Flippa are bad ones. In fact, there are some fantastic ones there. All I am saying is that they don't do the same vetting that Empire Flippers does. You either need to purchase a site through a trusted website broker on Flippa that has an excellent reputation or do some pretty serious vetting of your own.

If you have good budget go with empire flipper otherwise buy site from flippa only when you know how to do due diligence before buy...or go with flippa editor choice..

Because unless you are expert, can not find out which site to go with or which not..

    Regards
