Who would outsource a blog optimization service?

Hello, I'm a freelance blog writer, but I'd love to re-focus my business on optimizing blogs for better ROI. Like an audit/clean-up service. I would take what they already have and strategically make it better from a number of angles. For example:

- Reorganizing blog posts for better user experience and SEO (combining weak content, creating a topic cluster structure, updating information)
- Revising content for better readability and shares
- Applying consistent SEO best practices
- Repurposing blogs into ebooks, checklists, emails, etc.

Ideally, the client would already have clarity on their target audience(s) and have conducted keyword research. However, I could assist with a refresh on these, especially if they think the lack of alignment is causing the blog's poor performance.

My question is: What size or type of organization would be interested in (and could afford) this kind of service?

I'm thinking it might be a business with a single marketing director (or very small team). Or perhaps someone with a large blog designed to build income through affiliate marketing.

Would you agree? As a marketer, is this something you'd outsource? If so, what size/type organization are you?

(Note - this isn't meant to be a sales pitch. I'd love to make this my sole focus, but need to see if there's a viable market out there!)

Thanks for your help!

I think you would market yourself directly to blog writers. I think it would be difficult to pay someone to write a blog post and then have to pay someone else to come in and optimize the written blog post. You market yourself as a blog writer with expertise in posts to increase ROI or SEO or you market the information you can provide to someone so they can do it themselves, "how to's" or courses. I think this is a great idea just my 0.2 cents !

In my opinion, I think you should do an online search to decide which company you would choose and ask people for reviews

You have hit the nail on the head. Buying guides and ebooks are becoming more relevant than plain articles and blogs. When optimized, they are likely to bring more traffic to the website. In fact, I foresee a situation where website owners will re-purpose their articles into guides.

You're almost in the territory of internet marketing consulting/coaching. In my opinion, any low income/low traffic blog that's looking for marketing help can be a good audience to target. Gotta do your market research first though to find them. It's a great money maker if you know what you're doing - and know how to over deliver.

IMO there are several different audiences that would be interested in this type of service. Try picking one and pitching to them to see how it goes. Each has their own unique situation they're in, unique pain points that your pitch needs to touch on. This is why it would be hard to write one pitch that appeals to them all at once.

To get started, do market research. And then start working on improving the readability of your blog. Create an online keyword search. This will facilitate the search for specific content.
