someone wants to lease a subdomain from me

Hello,

I got contacted by someone who want to lease a subdomain from me and he need me to point this subdomain to his server for some money.
Why? and what is the benefits for him? and is it risky for me?

    Does the site have a lot of authority. They may want to leverage that authority to rank in google.

      Yes, and now I knew what they want.
      They want to publish the original main domain articles along with their ads on this subdomain.
      Which is considered a duplicate and I canceled the deal.

    You should go into this lease on your terms, not theirs. If you decide to do this, and I would not but the choice is yours, they should submit the content to you and whoever handles the webmaster duties would put the sub-site together. You need to have 100% control of all content and final say in all links. Remember any incoming and outgoing links that they generate could have an affect on your entire site.
