Rising Cost of Leads Solutions

We are facing this problem: the rising cost of leads.

Facebook is going good for the first month then it will ask more money for less targeted leads, and the cost of tier 1 leads will become higher and higher. It's a fact. Also, MMO and Marketing is not seen good by Facebook itself.

Google ads has become for rich people, unless you use display ads, and even IM Guru's are sharing their money for acquiring leads together

Nowadays it's very hard to acquire a lead for the Internet Marketing space, even if you use push notification, etc. It requires a lot of technical skills etc.

So here are the solutions i think would work on the long term:

1) The price of items sold, coaching, course, necessarily have to be high-ticket. it's a simple math: if you spend a lot for acquiring a 'potential customer' you cannot sell to a real customer for 97 usd. You will be out of the market soon.

2) You need an organic part which would become more and more big as the time passes: that's cause a 'lead' is a person, who before buying search infos from you, and your content must be there to speak for yourself. You need to pay attention of what people and google says about you.
That's why you need a Youtube channel, blog, etc. Facebook page only or a blog only isnt enough anymore.

3) You cannot really track.
If a lead buys from you something, how could you know if it's cause he's in your mailing list, or he have seen a video on youtube about you, or a facebook post/video?
It's quite impossible. You need to be everywhere and spend less time tracking.

4) Leads MUST be co-reg.
There are lot of co-registration service out there. You need to carefully find one, and use it. People today are subscribed to more than 10 lists, so if you wish to be the only one they listen to.... im sorry.
So why don't exploit this? People sharing leads, permission-based, are a goldmine if the service is good.

5) You must work on customer-retention.
Selling to people and repeat the proccess. It's not OTO OTO OTO, it's giving services related to the interest in different times.

6) You cannot survive with passive income.
There's no passive income. Even if you're making money with a funnel on autopilot, you need to update, change, and build new courses etc. Cause it will never be the same forever.
A course lasts aproximately after one year. Before that date, you need to produce more content. And this content need to sell something new.

7) You cannot retire doing only IM.
If your lifestyle grows, you wil have more to spend, and informarketing isnt forever. You need to produce more content, course, forever.
UNLESS you invest also in other things, like real estate etc. to sustain your life.
Ok, this is not regarding 'leads' but everything is connected

So, these are my opinions, thoughts, not the Bible.
Take it for your convenience.

Do your run your campaign and forget it the whole month or do you optimize your results along the way? (From my experience) Facebook is one of the cheapest methods to bring Targeted leads for a LONG period (depending on your audience size, in which again you need to optimize and scale for larger results) if done right! You can't just set a campaign with a specific budget and expect the same results months after.

    Hi JohnVianny,

If you are not measuring you are not marketing!

Tracking isn't all that hard, just learn how to do it and make it a central part of your marketing efforts. If you do not know your return on investment you cannot make good marketing decisions. It's not optional, it's the core technique of marketing. If you are not tracking your KPIs you are just "selling", not marketing.

Google Analytics is Free, as is Google Tag Manager, and Google Optimize. If you use those tools you can measure an incredible amount marketing data that will provide that critical marketing data you must have to make good decisions.

As more competitors learn more advanced marketing techniques you will need to up your game to keep up. You need to learn more sophisticated marketing strategies, not simply charge more for the same thing.

I suggest you try multi-step, multi-channel marketing strategies to lower you cost per acquisition. Also, consider investing in marketing automation technology to increase conversion rates, AOV, and order frequency. These techniques can be complete game changers when implemented properly.

Are you using custom landing pages? If not you are missing out on a lot of useful data, and incredible opportunities to optimize performance.

Whatever you are doing, there is always room for improvement. Figure it out and get it done.

    HTH,

    Don Burk

Of course you need to adjust campaigns, but Facebook, even if it's still necessary, has rising its cost and for sustaining your marketing effort you cannot monetize only on the back end and losing money on the front end.

In the signature there's a program and coaching on email marketing & lead generation, as my lead gen secret as well, CAUSE EMAIL MARKETING IS MY CORE BUSINESS.

This post regards the strategies of building an ecosystem of marketing strategies to make the cost of leads affordable, and co-registration is ONLY ONE of the strategies.

If you see i'm using of course custom landing pages, and THIS IS EXACTLY THE TOPIC OF THIS POST: multi channel strategies for lowering acquisition cost and monetize more.

BUT i cannot agree to the fact that everything is traceable: if a customer buy a product in your landing, or in a blog, but he had seen first you in a facebook live, how do you track the source of this "lead"?

AND if a 'fan' of a Facebook Page, or a person who has seen your Facebook Live buy your product even if he has not given you the email? isnt it a "lead" even if it's not in your autoresponder?

How do you track where exactly came this sale? he could have seen your facebook live or youtube and then google you and buy a product in your sales page. even without being your email lead.

I want to agree with you that you cannot make IM a lifeline. Times change and so it will require that you go the extra mile. Whatever money you make right now, invest it. It will come in handy when the well dries up.

My point is: you have to build an entire enviroment and treat leads differently AND sell at high price in order to be profitable.

Which may result in sharing leads, with permission based email, create more content in different ways and be less obssessed in tracking and technical stuff, but focus on multi channel nurturing, think of the sustainability of the business itself AND stop thinking of 'passive income'.

It may be some autopilot part, but you have always to 'nurture' your business and to expand your products to sell.

I agree that leads are rising in cost.

I disagree that you can't track.

The problem is (and yes I know Ramit Sethi talked about the issue) people have got poor measuring systems in place...the ones they slapped in maybe two or three months into their business and stuck with. And now everything's snarled together and how the heck do you separate this from that?

But you have to change things as you grow. The systems and measures must change or you'll get stuck like this.

And you can measure one thing. You can certainly measure the flow of just one offer through your processes.

And I did not see the absolute best thing to concentrate upon: increasing your Conversion rate. Wasting more high cost leads faster is not the answer.

Sure, the Traffic guys are plentiful and do a good job of chestbeating. Everyone knows they exist and until now have believed they're the white knights riding to the rescue.

Hardly anyone talks about Conversion, even the CRO / CXL people themselves. Whoops.

Permission based shared leads is commonly referred to as 3rd party data. Which I have been using since they existed.Which you can scale at a much much higher rate compared to generating opt-in unless you have a significant amount of money to pay for advertising.

However, in most cases, it is not as simple as acquiring the data and sending it. Done right it can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes down to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

I should clarify that I'm talking about 3rd party data that is targeted to specific PPL offers. If you are doing MMO, the data typically isn't targeted to specific offers and is just more general broad targeting that the users are interested in MMO. Additionally, with PPL all a user has to do is fill out a form to generate a conversion, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a purchase to be made, which is the case with MMO.

I prefer to use co-reg leads, and reinforce the audience by retargeting with social media as solo ads.

What? can you explain more in deep?

I'm not saying that you can't measure AT ALL.

I'm saying that you can't measure ALL as before.

You didn not answer indeed to my precise objection: imagine you have sold something to someone who saw your fb live, then google at you, is not in any mailing list, then watch your youtube video.... Where this sale came from?

It's the ECOSYSTEM you made which made him to purchase, not a single gear.

Or maybe it's a permission based lead in your email list, but he has NEVER opened a mail, but you retargeted him with facebook, so he watched your video and bought from you.... but you have taken this leads from the email list, not belong to you.
