Marketing and promotion for Storage Business?

Hello Warriors,

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. How do you market or promote online a Storage Business (Storage Unit, Outdoor Camper Storage, a Work Shop or Warehouse Space)?

We would like to expand my audience to more variety of customers. We want to target more contractors, small businesses, and small operators such as truck drivers that transport goods and materials

Also, an independent operator that needs a place to do maintenance and service work long term or a contractor in the construction industry.

Many trades people are busy and building up their businesses And expanding their size and range and they need more space for their tools and equipment as they take on more work and more employees.

Perfect for that purpose
New houses are being built
And buildings are being erected

I have started video marketing and promotion already.

If we are going to use facebook ads, what is a good monthly budget amount for the Facebook ads? Do you prefer video ads or image ads? Just an estimate budget if you could. I am so sorry for my ignorance.

Your input will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
GB

As I understand, your business is local, isn't it (or has a few physical locations).

Simply, I wouldn't forget advertising where your customers advertise their services (obviously, they're using the same advertising venues).

For local business, I tend to focus on local outreach more than online. I'd go where they work, lunch, and perform other aspects of their business (where they shop for supplies and materials).

After all, these guys are out working and not fiddling around with the Internet all day long. And if you did reach someone on their mobile app, wouldn't they rather get service from the guy standing right in front of them?

So IMHO, I'd rather put the ad spend into gas spend and find my customers the old fashioned way.

SEO and Google Ads is going to be a better play than Facebook I think. I'd start there, and for social just retarget your website traffic once the website traffic starts to pick up.

You are going for people who can best be reached on linkedin.

If you have a paid account on linked in you can do endless searches by job title, business type and location and you can send large amounts of messages to the people who best fit your criteria.

You could also send postcards to business owners/managers.

If you are in the USA, you can send eddm... Cheap way of sending postcards to every business on a route.

Good old fashioned coreplast lawn signs on some H-stakes ( like campaign signs for politicians) . Lettering your own personal vehicle with your storage business as well if you are able to do that.

Have you tried Craigslist and Facebook marketplace?

I have a 525 sqft unit and the first place I looked was Craigslist and found it.

Craigslist and Facebook market place are great suggestions. Here in Canada we have "Kijiji" (which is similar to Craigslist and you can actually pay a small fee (talking less than $10 for 30 days) to have your advertisement posted as either the "top ad" for a particular search or pinned to the home page for x amount of days. I'm not sure if Craigslist has this as an option but would be a great if you are wiling to put in a couple dollars for advertising.

  • Considering your business, local marketing would be your best bet. Advertising on your local paper, radio station and giving away flyers would be a good place to start.

    Hi,

SEO helps you a lot in marketing your business and get traffic. Well, advertising is also a great idea. I recommend you to make attractive video and put all the facts and figures, benefits, etc. in that video. Video help to attract people. I have never used paid Facebook ads so I don't know about the budget. But yes I highly recommend you to do SEO.

    Hope it helps!!

    Thanks!!

I would recommend you visit their sites(places of work and collect whatever info including their phone numbers. You can later text them explaining what you can do for them. f you chose to use Fb, you need to befriend them otherwise spending your money on FB ads will give you zero yields. These guys are busy working.

A predominantly local business like your business should be reaching out using mostly offline marketing strategies like billboards and flyers. You might also want to consider getting business cards and posting in the classifieds. I hope you find whatever works well for you.
