Changing Google Shopping Ad Images

The title of this thread pretty much explains what I'm looking for!

I'm very new to Google ads and I've been brought in to advertise specific products for a wholesale plumbing company.

They currently have product shopping ads up and running but I would like to change the images of the ads because they are not very appealing to potential customers...is this something I would do on their Google Merchant Center or their eCommerce website's backend (shopify)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    If it is pulling them automatically from Shopify (not a feed file that was manually set up on Google Drive), it really all depends on the plugin you are using and what images already exist for the product. In most cases, the easiest way is simply to change the main product images in Shopify because most Shopify Google Shopping apps use the main image 1 as the default image for Google Shopping.

    If there are images you would like to use that are on product pages but they are not the main image, you can also map the correct image in Google Merchant Center (i.e. put the image you want Google to use as image #2 for all products and then use "Feed Rules" in Merchant Center to map image 2 as the image instead of the default image 1).
