How To Ensure You Get Your Affiliate Commission?

I have a burning question! I noticed a leak in affiliate marketing business.

So say that I've built an email list, I give lots of values and they are super interested in the affiliate product I'm promoting but then they go ahead and google the product, they then land on another affiliate website and purchase from their links and they got the commission, not us.

Is there anyone here that can shed a light as to how to avoid this (I suppose there's no way to avoid this though) or reduce the possibility of this happening? I can see tons of your commission go down to other affiliates this way.

Any helpful insights are truly appreciated. Thank you!

This is going to be hard (if not impossible) to do if you can't change the name of the affiliate product you're selling

One workaround are WHITE LABEL arrangements... They work well for services but I'm not sure about products

There might have a few leads which will see your affiliate link and will google it, then buy directly without using your link. Believe me, this number is not very high, may be less than 5% leads. So, focus on other 95% potential customers.

Thanks but what I'm trying to ask is if they will land on other affiliate review sites after googling the product keyword to look for review/validation and we lose the sales commission because they click on other affiliate's link, not ours.

It can be set to first affiliate gets the sales, with an expiry of 30 days for example. In that case if the ones you promote to are landing on your affiliate page and it's the first time this visitor lands for that product, then it is your cookie that is set and even if its searching for the product thereafter, for up to thirty days, technically, you should get the commission even if its land on another affiliate page.

In the contrary, and that is in the majority of cases especially in the jv zoo type of products where the affiliate competition is very high, the cookie is set to last affiliate, and in such case then it's the last affiliate that gets the order that gets the commission.

How did you figure out there's a leak (that harms you)?

How do you know if some people click on other affiliates link, google the stuff, then buy through your link?

If you have lots of clicks on your link and no/few purchases, have you looked into the product seller's funnel? What happens after they click on your link? Do they land on a page on the product seller's site that has a way to collect emails? That is a leak you can fix (promote only products whose owner does not compete directly with you, i.e., no optins on their pages).

This is what is known as cookie jacking, that is why if you are promoting a product to your list, you should make a review so your subscribers don't have to go to google for reviews.

If you are facing problems of affiliate commission then you can call directly to customer support....I hope you will get the right instructions....

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for over 18 years and to my knowledge, I have never had such a problem. If it has happened, it wasn't a significant amount to make an offer go from performing well to not being worth promoting. I wouldn't waste time worrying about such.

Well, if you promote your direct referral links without disguise, then everything that you said is true. It's necessary to mask affiliate links and not give the direct name of the product .. Simply put, you need to interest the client with something else and go directly to the partner's site, then the cookies will be taken into account and there will be no problems

You should always use a bridge page and offer bonuses related to what you're selling.

Especially bonuses that relate to the offer. If it's a list building product for example, you could offer high converting email swipes as a bonus.

If you can value stack like this, your chances of making the sale over your competition is way higher.

And finally, I have seen some affiliates go as far as instructing their customers to clear their cookies and click their link in order to claim their bonuses.

Well this its a part of the game you cannot avoid that ,as people sometimes when you recommend a product they may search on google for reviews .I thin you should focus on builder you client base larger

I concur with most of you. This is something you cannot avoid. Your link will also benefit from another person's effort. So get what you can get and let what you cant go wherever it wants.
