Best way(s) to promote and monetize a video only website?

Hi Warriors,

I'm in the midst of creating a video only website. I am compiling a specific niche with just videos.

The site will be unique because it will be presenting the most current videos in my niche along with an extremely wide variety. Even though the videos are available elsewhere, my site will save visitors time and provide them with everything they need in that niche.

Since I won't be writing any articles, how can I best promote my site?

My only idea is to post comments on Youtube and reddit.

    If you can generate urls of vids embedded on your site, you can try promoting on FB groups

    What I love about FBG is the fact that there is a group for every topic under the sun

    WARNING: Don't drop a link and leave. Hang out first. Establish credibility. THEN share other sites' content THEN share yours.

    PRO TIP: When you're building credibility use this opportunity to do customer intelligence in your niche so you can see which videos to feature on your site

    If you post the video transcript under the video you'd most likely get more SE traffic. Something to keep in mind!

    You have to actively promote them using all online marketing strategy. Whether its video, podcast, text blog; the promotion strategy is same. You'll get trickle of traffic at first. If people find it interesting ppl might bookmark and revisit again.
    But consistently promoting daily is vital to your longterm success because if they are not visiting your site, theyll go somewhere else. Just like shopping, if gour first experience is good , you'll revisit the store and buy from them again, right?

    A few ideas, Stu:

    - genuinely comment on blogs from your niche
    - mention bloggers from your niche on videos, link to them, and tag them on social media to give them credit
    - guest video? I say guest posting, usually, but perhaps you can guest post/video on blogs from your niche

    A brilliant idea that has come when the video is taking over any other thing on the internet. To promote it, you will need to use old methods. FB embedding the videos, commenting on relevant blogs will propel you.

    Great advice everyone. Thanks.

    Perhaps I should have mentioned that the videos that I will be placing on my site are curated from youtube. I will have some infographics and a few original articles, not many.

    I can't use the video transcripts because they aren't mine and the main problem is that the videos don't really lend themselves to a lot of written text (the videos are based on cars, motorcycles, etc).

    I like the idea of commenting on videos but I'm not sure it's enough.

    Any ideas?

    Go to Reddit and Quora. Learn how to use those platform. It works better now than commenting other YouTube.

    Use Google to help you. It will solve most of your questions
