I kind of needed the same service. I've use 4shared . com before to get some files to friends that were too big for email

Amazon S3? I don't know much about it, but I'm going to be looking into it in the future.

if you are selling then ejunkie is the place I discovered on a recommendation on here, its cheap and its working a treat for my download products.

I reccomend amazon s3 with the s3fox firefox extension for more large scale and if you want seamless file hosting... and a place like rapidshare if you don't mind sending people to another site to download files...

You could also get a cheap hosting acccount at like godaddy or hostgator to store files as well.. provided you also have a domain to hook up to the account.

Another vote for E-Junkie, excellent service for digital downloads. It's how I run my WSO payments and delivery.

If you're just looking for free file storage online you could ftp the files to your own server or you can use docs.google.com. They've just added an "upload any file" feature. Max 250mb for a single file, max storage of 1gig - that's free, more if you pay. It doesn't have to be google doc compatible you can just shove your files up there.
