Dean Graziosi and Stuart Ross type of courses

Hello all,

Why it seems I started to receive more and more affiliate marketing course ads via YouTube in recent times.

Why successful affiliate marketers I mentioned in my subject decided to go all in spending their money into promoting their courses instead of earning money old way by doing what they know best and what they teach others today- the affiliate marketing from the niche.

Is the consulting business more profitable than working on the niche today?

I mean why one second they realize they want to share the knowledge with all for a small fee of course.

Can I guess that this could be an indicator of the bubble in the affiliate market space?
I noticed that when people make less money from using their knowledge, they start selling that knowledge.

Are they tired of making money from niches and decided to become "generous" one day, sharing and exposing all their knowledge to masses? It is hard to believe that. I might be wrong.

The main focus for this discussion - does that indicate there are too many affiliate marketers that entering into niches online and trying to get conversions today?
Old sharks leave and change their strategy into the consulting business?

Thank you for your opinions

There maybe some that do, however, if you look carefully, you'll notice that what many savvy marketers are doing is duplicating their successes and growing their affiliate business exponentially.

I can sell 100s of product every day and be happy - but I'll grow bored.
If I have a true entrepreneurial spirit, I'll want to duplicate myself 100 times and make 10's of thousands of sales every day - preferably with my own product.

For many, that product would easily be their own affiliate marketing expertise - and for others, it may be other niches and interests.

Well this is pure observation of Dean . Who doesn't just end up in my you tube adds but pretty much on all the podcasts I watch and doing interviews with all the big gurus .

I would guess at some point he gets a piece of the revenue from the people who actually use what he teaches to make fortunes.

Or the people who have money starting out .bird dog deals for his company.

He probably has a dozen ways or more of earning money from people who actually use his stuff to make money . And if that is only 1 or 2 percent of the people who buy his stuff.

But I could be seeing stuff that isn't there

The truth is affiliate marketing will always be there.

I wouldn't say its getting saturated. Do this little test.

Ask the next 20 random people you meet if they know what affiliate marketing is. You will be surprised by the answers.

  • Most internet marketers start making money online as an affiliate marketer. Once they have mastered the "affiliate marketing trade", they actually realize that they can generate even more sales online when they sell their own products online and get other affiliates to sell their newly created products for them.

That's just the lifecycle of the online marketer. You may start in affiliate marketing, and then transition into the product creator. As a product creator, you 100% control of your sales funnel, and other affiliates are able to sell your newly created products for you when you do your product launch online.

The lifecycle of the online marketer transitioning from affiliate to product creator, is nothing new at all. It's always been this way in the internet marketing arena

If you've been in the "make money online" industry for some time now, you probably noticed how all the big players sell their own digital products.

In the courses they sell, they might teach you how to make money by doing this and that, but at the end of the day, when you look at what they're doing to make the bulk of their money, you'll notice that it all comes down to selling digital information products.

I think this is because that's the smartest money there is.

You get to keep 100% of the profits, you can build your upsells into the course/program, and you strengthen your bond with your audience. Plus if you know what you're doing it's not that hard to build a good info product, and these guys definitely know what they're doing.

Oh, and you can ensure that the quality will be good enough and you don't get any unhappy people.

It really is the smartest money there is.

    because of several reasons:
1- They offer to join aff programs as ref , so get that cut.
2- They also offer you to promote their own course = More money
3- No body hates extra cash

so they keep multiplying traffic sources , if you think it that way its quite intellligent way like you charge people for the course , then offer them to promote in initially (Their money but your sales ) etc etc.

Your assessment is generally way off base:

    1. What's wrong with forking one's approach and doing both?
    2. Consulting businesses can be more profitable since its a specialty that people are willing to pay a premium for.
    3. Why is seeing a few ads now representative of being in a bubble? The guys promoting his live events.
    4. Who knows why he's doing live events now? Why does one always have to stay in ones niche?
    5. etc.

    Cheers.

This post is certainly a good ad for Dean Graziosi and Stuart Ross type of courses just shows that if you advertise enough people will start talking about you on forums and your ads will multiply.

Exactly....with this discussion, there are going to be some people who realize they too have been seeing a lot of Dean's ads and since "everyone" is now talking about him, maybe I should click his ad and see what he's all about.

Gedt, did Dean pay you to do this?

Thank you all for your insights into this subject.
Things that you helped me to understand and see more clearly now are the following:

Affiliate marketing is not getting anywhere near saturated.
The smartest money is in selling digital information products like software or courses.
Better to have your own product to sell to keep 100% profit.

And answering to palmtreelife's - did Dean pay you to do this?
No. He made me do this for free

This is true, yes, but just to be clear, you don't need to sit down and create new content from scratch all the time. You can get cheap or free PLR content that allows you to re-sell it as your own. Ideally, you would modify the content and adapt it to your own style or brand, but many people just re-distribute the content as is and do fairly well with it.

He made me do this for free
Well that's an interesting statement! Can I make you advertise my products for free?
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11542412].message }}
      • Good point on the PLR products. I recall seeing them online, bought a bunch of that stuff, some worked, some didn't - and for what I paid, it was cheap enough to not care.

Anyway, I'm really glad to hear the discussion evolve more into the lifecycle of an online marketer. Frankly, my evolution (I've been in Online Marketing since 1993), went from doing it for myself to consulting - dabbled with info products (mine and my own) for a few years, then "retired"... After a recent 5-year sabbatical, I'm back (had to create a fresh account as I couldn't recall the email, UN or PW for my old one).

I'm very curious to get thought on what the forum thinks is the next stage, after consulting, after coaching, after your own info-products? Whats next?

Frankly, I just can't see myself doing videos showing off my home, standing in front of my cars while talking about the unusual successes of some of my few outlier "students/clients" have had (and pretending thats the norm).

Whats the next stage? Should I have stayed retired? LOL

Frankly, you shouldn't have retired if that means you dropped your established business(es), because the next step is Empire Building.

This can be viewed in two distinct (major) ways: 1. dollar amount or 2. geo-graphical dominance (presence). Major corporations grow into conglomerates and the natural progression for most internet marketers, after they've created their own products, is to develop / purchase key assets (on and offline) that increase and enhance their business.

Perhaps this isn't readily realized because many marketers are simply just trying to make money instead of building their passions into a major enterprise.

A marketer / business person must know their capacity and drive. If you have what it takes to reach high, then there is where your goals will take you. Nothing wrong though with creating money machines just "for the heck of it!"

I mean now I realized that having a doubt in those ads, the suspicion in them made me ask questions, talk to people, post on this forum to verify if they are selling a dream or actual thing what is the motive under it. It made me promote their brands for free in this way. (by questioning about them here). Also I thought if they can afford to bombard me with video ads for months, they must know something more that could be helpful for me (to make more money), they have the money for these expensive campaigns, and they invest that money into this, there must be money under this and I need to reverse engineer their real agenda expecting this will help me to get traction and direction where to invest my time and focus in future - start doing affiliate marketing which I like because It can express, create, reach masses - more clients more earnings, more impact, OR better to invest my time in learning something more narrow secure and stable, less competitive like AI, data science, machine learning

I think if you were unique, sincere, integral, explanatory speaking on your ad I would buy your courses as I would buy a reliable course on Udemy like course in coding. But these guys are too abstract in their words promoting and their offers sound like they sell a dream, also they are classy in visuals - showing big house, good cars, pretty wife etc. I noticed that good things in life look less shinny.

Another idea came, how does people still tend to believe that there is solution for them for all their problems in some secret billionaires step by step courses for a small fee? IMHO successful people become successful and rich because they know how to write their own life book, with their own unique experiences life situations

While writing this message I was watching Joe Rogan's show with guest Steve Aoki

Did Steve Aoki became top DJ because he bought "Become World class DJ by learning how to throw a cake to your listeners" courses? I don't think so.

He became who he is because he was born like this - unique, talented and creative.

        Update:
I was targeted via Facebook sponsored ad with another dude- Sam Ovens. And he looks most legitimate and persuasive in his presentations so far, or I fit better to his target audience, do you know him?
I came to this video -very informative and looks legitimate for beginner like me
Old Warriors Current Sharks can you please disentangle me and navigate to right direction PLEASE HELP I am getting confused I am desperate to learn and start to practice asap as I already know how to make websites do SEO etc BIG THANK YOU in advance!

Please be careful...this line of thinking and assuming is extremely flawed! Just because someone has a big marketing budget, does NOT mean they know what they are doing and does NOT mean they have made money using the techniques they are promoting.

You don't know where the money came for their marketing. The cynic in me always thinks: if they're so successful and well off in life, why do they need to push SO aggressively in their ads to SELL us a product. If they have already "made it", and are set for life, why not just give the information away for free?

Many scam artists are just that...ARTISTS. They are smooth talking, have great sales copy and a better pitch. They sound unique, sincere and sound like they have integrity. They might...but PLEASE do not assume these things or you WILL eventually get burned bad.

Thank you for good advice palmtreelife.

What is your bank account number?

I will send you money for the best advice received so far after doing my research and re-engineering affiliate marketers, forums, their ads..

Competition is huge now, and old sharks go to selling their courses because there is still market there, and they do not wanna get pennies from selling Chinese BS products anymore, because the market is already packed there.

Affiliate marketing is interesting - it goes in cycles. So often you will get superstars that built a list around a niche and then marketed multiple affiliate products using a certain platform (Clickbank, Amazon, etc...) but then one of 3 things happen: 1) Competition catches up and their share of the market does down 2) The platform changes and suddenly something else pops up (Ex Courses become bigger than ebooks and so Udemy or Teachable become better platforms than Clickbank for example) or 3) Their link to the market evolves - for example email marketing is far less successful today while social marketing is where the attention is today and the original affiliate marketers may not adapt (many have not by the way)

All of this means their original domination of affiliate marketing is reduced making "teaching" more attractive.

A final thought, online marketing was ALWAYS far bigger than the people who teach it...for every "guru" I have known in the day there were 100 others actually DOING it behind the scenes and not in the public eye. Why some online marketers decide to teach it while others just DO it has got to do with many factors ranging from EGO all the way to altruism and wanting others to live the life they have discovered.
