Rank & Rent Videos For Local Biz On Youtube

Hey All!

Anybody find a good model that works well for offering a local biz a video that ranks 1st page on Youtube?

Was thinking one-off price of $250...then maybe $50 year to maintain the rankings?

Rank your own videos first, then local businesses will flock to you.

I am a business owner. I know about Google. Why do I want to be on page 1? When I need to be #1 on page 1 and, more importantly, I need revenue from that.

Say I am a wedding dress store and acquiring a client can cost me no more than $140. At 50 a month with 250 upfront, I need to make a sale from your video every 10 or 11 weeks. I make 1 sale from every 3 appointments. That means, I need 3 appointments from your video every 10 or 11 weeks.

If I am #1 for one of my top 3 keywords, I'll get that. I probably will get it if I'm #2. If I'm #3, there is not enough traffic... That means, you need to rank that video for #1 or 2 of my top 3 keywords or for a lot of keywords in the #3 or 4 position. Less than 4, you're wasting everybody's time, for sure.

Can your video convert well enough? Can it get people to call/visit/make an appointment?

If you're a mortgage company in, say, Chicago, the top keyword probably gets 300 searches a month. #1 gets 100 clicks or so. Your mortgage company will, for sure, not want to pay more than $500 to make 1 sale.

How many of the 100 who click will call them? (Assuming they get 1 sale out of 10 calls, they would not mind at all paying you your $250 + 50/month if you get 10 people to call.)

In other words, it depends on how well your videos convert and there are industries for each it would work better.

Thats some great number crunching there! (:

    I would only charge $50/year to maintain ranking...not $50/mo.

There is a guy on Youtube saying that you could get $500 one-time fee for ranking a video...but Im also thinking that would be a tough sale.

    My thoughts so far:

    - $95 for a ranked (60) second slideshow / background music video that links to your web site. Embedded on FB, Twitter and the clients site.

    - $149 extra / upgrade to have a live actor / script type video
with green screen and pics / logo added.

You are not thinking about your client.
What would your client get from you ranking a video?

So here are some things to help you:

I am a mortgage broker. I am willing to pay $450 for one new client.

My city + mortgage broker gets 57 searches a month. I know that, if your video ranks #1 for that keyword, it gets 18 clicks. I do not know how many of those 18 clicks contact me. But I know I convert 2 of 10 into an application and 1.69 of those 10 actually close a loan with me.

If 9 of the 18 clicks contact me, I am willing to pay you 500 upfront and 100 a month fir eternity.

You can do that with any business, just replace the acqusition cost with something realistic for that business.

When you have certainty as to how many clicks the video gets and how many of those contact the business, you got yourself a money printer.

The most challenging part of the process will be persuading businesses to pay for the service, so focus on learning that part of things.

Options might include a lead-generation approach, such as offering them free leads generated by that video, for the first month, then either pay per lead, or offer a monthly fee for continuing.

I used to work with offline business.

Ranking local business videos in Google was a walk in the park. Will it work now? I think the demand will be there, yes, but the Google algo for videos has undergone some pretty radical changes in recent years. The general rule for ranking a video in Google is, if you see other videos in the SERP, then you have a chance at ranking it. This won't always be the case - in examples where no well-optimized video yet exists for the keyword, and therefore there is nothing to show in Google - but it's a fairly helpful guide.

So what does this mean for the model?

Well, back in the past, you could rank hotels, taxi services, and restaurants, among others with relative ease. (Hotels and taxis services were my best clients; deep pockets and not afraid to spend on their businesses.) It wasn't rocket science, either. Google loved YouTube videos (still does) so that alone made the job easier when optimising for terms with little competition. That said, I was operating outside of major cities, where competition was extremely weak. Nowadays? You'll find a lot of the first page results taken up by Google Maps, Trip Advisor, and so forth, so I'm not entirely sure how easy you'd find ranking the videos on those pages. It may not even be possible in some cases. I think you'll have to research and assess whether you can get the rankings.

A better model to consider, IMO, and this comes from a chap who usually favours YouTube above most platforms, is offering a service to get leads through Facebook Ads. You can charge 4-figures and up if you're shit-hot.

Kind of funny to read through the responses on this thread with all of the comments about ranking on "Google" when the OP asked about ranking on "YouTube". I am in NO WAY saying that Google would not be the right response... Im just saying.

So to the OP after reading the responses thus far... If you were searching for a business where would you do it? Google or YouTube? we know the answer right? Google.

I am going to assume that you are using this service as a bit of a trip wire to getting your foot in the door to get more business from these clients?

If the idea is to develop trust - create a scenario where the trip wire service adds value - and demonstrates your ability in providing results.. does the video do it?

May I suggest a separate path? Go download the "Google Contribute" App on your phone. play with it for a few days... leave reviews.. take photos etc of places you visit.

So how does this help you with trust, value, and results? Once you are comfortable with the APP you could walk into a business that is NOT listed on Google Maps and using the "Add new Listing" feature you can add a business. You can include the name of the store, the phone, web address if they have one, hours of operation, pictures etc.

As I do this, I do it for FREE. in a matter of days they will have a "Maps Listing". What just happened to trust, value, and results? You NOW have entry to offering a website if they don't have one.. dong local SEO ( Google My Business acct setup ) and your video.

So Video.. $250 would be something I would charge to add a video to their new Google Maps listing. want a video on YouTube? $450 would be a better number... With a web site build I would throw in the YouTube video for free.

This thread: ( https://www.warriorforum.com/offline...l#post11557194 ) or more specifically POST I go through the process of walking into a business and offering the free map list service.

    Hope that Helps!

You're absolutely right - I misread that, LOL.

That seems like an excellent idea!

The difficulty you'll find with all of this, OP, is how inundated local businesses are with online marketing offers; especially SEO services.

And this was the case years ago when I did it myself.

I overcame it back then by using a similar approach suggested by savidge4. I went out and met with the business owners in person.

I sat down with them. Showed them what their competition was doing. Explained how I could help them with better online solutions.

The free consultation was a no-obligation chit-chat where they could use my advice and hire my agency, sure, or simply take the advice and that would be that.

It depends on the location but some of these businesses can be getting dozens or hundreds of unsolicited SEO service emails a year.

Having a local chap literally sit down with them and just honestly show how he can help? It really sets you apart and helps to open doors.
