Should I do it? need your advice!

Hello warriors,

I recently started a blog/list building in a weight loss niche, going a bit slow but it's only been up for a bit over a week. Anyway, today I got an email that reads along the lines:

"My name is xxxxx and I'm currently creating an ebook on weight loss. I came across your article on a number of different sites and realised that your are an expert in this niche market. I have read your article and realise that you'd be perfect for inclusion in my new ebook.

I am currently putting together an expert compendium on the subject and I'd be delighted if you would be kind enough to let me include your article in my book. Also if you have any other articles please send them over, and if they're suitable I can include them to.

Of course I would include links back to your website and this would mean free visitors to your website and publicity without you spending a dime. Not only that as I intend to market this product in a big way your reputation as an expert will be increased even further."

Aside fromthe fact it opened my eyes to an interesting way of making an ebook without doing as much work. Should I do it? I guess I am a bit annoyed that someone will make money/whatever from my work. On the other hand I might get some traffic, besides, they could just rip my article (or have it rewritten) without me being able to do anything, so a link with a possibility of some traffic doesn't sound too bad.

What do you think warriors?

Given this age of people hiding behind their computers, you should ask him of his previous work to see if this is someone who knows what he is doing, or just some newbie somewhere trying out something new. I say this because you could largely benefit if this is a experienced marketer who will drive lots of free traffic to your articles.

Yes, what NyceGuy said, and consider that if the ebook he puts out is of very poor quality, it will hurt you more than help you to be so closely associated with it and him. Why not put your own ebook together? They're not hard to write, especially about something you know about already.

If you publish your work on article directories, folks can create e-books using your content even WITHOUT writing you for your permission anyway.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I'll ask for a sample of previous work.
Hmm, can they put articles in an ebook that were/asre submitted to article directories? I know they can reprint them on their own site. Not sure if you can reprint them in an ebook (especially if it's paid ebook and not free) guess something to look into.

Yes, using the articles in a free e-book appears to be allowed by most article directories.
