How do I create a lead magnet on my landing page - YouTube or Vimeo?

I am currently using YouTube for our weekly webinars we are making (which means we are providing a lot of great content, but not capturing enough leads). I have made these videos unlisted which means I have embedded them onto our website and can send the URL to people that have registered, but we are missing a big amount of leads that come to our website and just download the content for free.

I am thinking Vimeo is my only other option, but I would have to pay $50 per month to install the capture lead form before they view it, which in turn would be synced to our Mailchimp. Is there a better way to do this? It doesn't make sense that I would have two different accounts (YouTube and Vimeo). I work in edtech too and Youtube is such a large social channel that I think it would be silly to move to Vimeo. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

Usually, the real sales are made in the follow-up email. You need to have a good email sequence to sell your product.

However, it is still possible to make immediate sales, but you have to keep doing split test (a/b test) to improve your conversion rate.

Again with your completely irrelevant answers. Do you close your eyes. Click on a thread. Paste in some text, and get on with your day?

      Embarrassing.

      Yes.

As long as you get real and targeted traffic.

Also if you can add automatic messages to your autoresponder for a full year, you just have to focus on getting great and targeted traffic like I said before.

When buying traffic, you need to see which sources work and which ones don't.

Can you not just close off the pages with the content you don't want people to access for free, and give out a password access to the people who DO sign up? You don't need any special plugin to do this.

I want to treat each webinar recording as a lead magnet. So, I am trying to get more email sign ups. Giving people a password, is assuming I already have a way to get in touch with them.

Yes I concur with you. It is critical that you get the sign up first before you generate a lead. You cant give passwords to people who are not interested. If Vimeo can do why not give it a trial?

    Landing Page:

    FREE VIDEO
"Sign up now to learn xxxxxxx"

Then in the opt-in box have a form that says "where should we send the video"

Once they opt-in, you have a thank you page with the video on it. also resend them the video via email.

    Two things here:
    1. You captured their email
    2. you can retarget the user twice.
    a. they visited your landing page but did not sign up
    b. they landed on your thank you page but either did not buy or watch the video.

Now you can set up your email sequence based on their action. You can also do specific retargeting emails...for example:

Visited landing page but did not opt-in: Ad says "HEY! I noticed you did not get to watch the video "xxxxxxxxx". Click here now to sign up and watch. ITS FREE

Opted in but did not buy: Hey! I noticed you watch the video "xxxxxxxxxx" but did not (take further action..buy, watch the next video, call me). Click here to (take further action)

If you are just hoping to get people to buy (or take whatever action you want them to) on the first interaction you WILL FAIL. YOu need to keep engaging them to get them to your end result!

    I hope this helps'!

Yea, you don't need to spend $50/mo to Vimeo to do that. Gumroad will let you do it for no cost. They allow for online video streaming rentals which you can price at $0. It will automatically build your email list too which you can sync with software like Mailchimp using Zapier.

Another option would be to setup an online video course using software like Teachable.

Edit: If you wanted to stay with Youtube for all of your video hosting, just embed it on a page that isn't available to the public and link it to them after they optin. I'm not understanding when you say 'we are missing a big amount of leads that come to our website and just download the content for free'. Don't embed it on your site where website visitors can access it for free. You have to create a dedicated download page on your website that isn't public, isn't indexed by Google and possibly password protected.

For $50 you get to take advantage of YouTube's Ocean of eyeballs and have peace of mind that you still have control of your hard worked Value Videos if you woke up and YouTube shut you down.
