How Would You Monetize an Election Domain?

I have an election domain I registered many years ago. All the Presidential election year domains were taken, so the only one I managed to get was for next year, 2010.

And, with things as they are, that seems a bit fortuitous because I think the next election will be a closely watched one.

And, the time to get started is probably now. (Or maybe 6 months ago, but now is better than later.)

So, what's the best way to put such a domain to use? It seems like political forums are a dime a dozen, so that doesn't seem the best way.

How about gathering some inaugural presidential addresses from the public domain and offering them for sale on the site?

Maybe a bit frivolous, but you could link to Zazzle or CafePress, they always have lots of election stuff for sale.

    Dan,

Probably a dumb question, but have you looked at a variety of sites from and during past elections?

It would seem if there is significant traffic the warring parties would possibly buy banner space.

Adsense is another possibility. Commercial entities, special interests and the like may try to leverage a candidate or issue.
