Recruiting Affiliates: Using own affiliate plugin or third party affiliate platform?

I want to setup my own affiliate program but is unsure if it's best to manage my own affiliates using a plugin or using a third party platform such as JV ZOO or Warrior Plus. Any warriors have experience in this area? All comments appreciated. Thank you.

I have been doing affiliate / CPA marketing for 19 years.

I would never even consider promoting an offer that the advertiser uses some self-host or plugin to manage everything with.

For professional affiliate management, tracking, reporting, etc...

The top 3 platforms are cake, hasoffers(now "Tune"), and hitpath. I have also worked with an advertiser that used offerit. It was acceptable.

They should all have some form of a basic starter package. My preference is cake. The link for their basic package is https://getcake.com/signup/?c=2
