Can I repurpose someone elses PODCAST into my own blog article

Ive been listening to some amazing podcasts recently and would love to cover these topics in an article and these entrepreneurs

I was wondering, would it be possible to repurpose someone else podcast into my own article if I rewrite it

    Not sure how you want to 'repurpose' - you could write about same topics - could probably do a review of the podcast though not sure how well that would work.



    If you mean using the text of a podcast as your own 'article' - that information (the podcast) is protected by copyright. You can't copy it or create a 'derivative' copy without potential issues.

    What you can probably do is quote part of the podcast and then review or state your opinion.

    It may help to state the podcast number and the timestamp of the piece you are quoting.

    Just take the general theme and topic and turn it into your own words.

    Don't outwardly copy it or plagiarize, like Kay said it's copyrighted.

    But there's no reason you can't take the general topic and theme,
    then reword it to make it your own style and voice.

      It is the same with a book: can you type it on your own computer and call it your own? No.

      Can you discuss it? Yes.

      Can you analyze it? Yes.

      Can you review it? Yes.

      Can you buy rights to it? Yes. Even all rights, including the right to place it as is wherever you want, to alter it anyway you want, to sell it.

      Why can you not learn the stuff and produce pieces from your understanding of things? I mean, you can take a podcast you liked, learn (think about it, related to your experiences and dreams and you would have a good podcast of your own that has the advantage of positionong you as an expert on the topic, assuming you actually do all the work of learning, understanding. If you do not have your own experiences to give as examples, or your own statistics, qoute those, giving proper credit. )

        Thanks for giving the best answer! Im going to talk about the podcast I listened to and relate it to a personal story + topic of discussion to prove my point! So will link back to it

    Yes, definitely. Just re-write it in your own words. For information, only the "expression" used (i.e. the exact words they use) is copywriteable, the concepts themselves are usually not.

    You can Google relevant topics and add some of your own original info as well.

    I suggest taking only the best of the podcast and rewriting it in your own words. Do the same from 3-4 other related resources/authors.

    Then add a couple of paragraphs of your own original experiences, opinions, thoughts, suggestions, or statistics (which can't be copyrighted), etc.

    Now you have an original, unique and helpful resource that you can repurpose any way you want.

    Listen to the podcast a few times and then create your own content from your own perspective but never copy word for word.

    You want to have your own voice and when you copy others, you will lose all legitimacy.
