Marketing A Custom Marble Tile Business

Any ideas on marketing a brick and mortar custom marble tile business?

The company prints 2, 4, and 8 inch tiles on demand, servicing both consumers and businesses, and fulfilling some of the orders through Amazon.

Most of their business*is acquired*through sales reps.*And although they have a website and a Facebook page, the company has no formal marketing plan that I'm aware of.

I had an idea to create a LinkedIn page or a newsletter to become an information source to potential*customers.

Thoughts?

Need to really be looking at WHO buys this. LinkedIn could work for B2B if there is a "Commercial" need for this. I would be looking more at the retail side of this and blasting Instagram, Pinterest, Etsy, and eBay with more universal design ideas and also promoting the on demand aspect "Your photo on a tile" kind of thing.

      Who buys and why?

Like Savidged, I think Instagram and Etsy are great options.

Maybe make friends with custom / high-end house builders. On Linkedin, for instance.

All of these work better with a clear unique selling proposition and marketing plan.

Make sure they have claimed their google listing. If not that would be a easy place to start. Once google verify's your listing, add photos of the store and the different types of tile designs.

If the company is already in business, they should leverage their existing print contacts with existing customers to build an online following

Yes, create a LinkedIn page, and market it actively . . . don't just create a page and hope people will find it . . . get on relevant groups and promote the page, get involved in discussions, make connections. etc.

And consider call-only Google ads . . . few people know about them, so you can often get someone calling your business, wanting exactly what you offer, for about the same price as a mere click to your website. So definitely test that option!

Is their market to match broken tiles for seamless-looking replacement?

Or to cover large areas in new or renovating construction?

Is it noticeably more affordable than real marble?

You and I really need to understand the market better than has been explained so far. What the intention is and the niche(s) served has to be defined more specifically than "consumers and businesses."

Who has bought in what quantities so far? Who has been the most profitable?

Builders and builder associations seem to be a good place to start. But I want to get more drilled-down than that. There's no point in approaching high end custom home builders if the perception of these printed tiles is low value, for example (I have no idea how they are perceived. Maybe no one can tell the difference. You'll have to tell me.)

You want to make the sale once, then get repeat orders... rather than spend all the effort hunting down one buyer, and they buy a single time and then never again or years in the future.
