Easy...

use the www.search.twitter.com

type in a phrase associated with your niche

for instance type in ''need to lose weight'' (not my niche)

You will a whole host of non-marketing twitterers who want to lose weight.

Send them to your opt-in page by sending them a friendly message like

Heya..saw yur tweet:-) I had a kinda weight problem a while bak bt this helpd loads. tinybit.url Questions? :-)

and bobs your uncle.

Then just offer INSANE value in your follow-ups...encourage interaction and HIT THEM for six with a cool offer.

I usually create an top quality ebook using openoffice.org and sell it for $7.

    Hey man,

As i know, the leads that are coming from twitter, facebook, myspace don't have the same money value like the leads coming from PPC or organic search. It is proven, that the leads coming from social media websites, are only 1/4 opened to buy products. So you maybe want to rethink your grabbing leads strategy. Anyway, i guess the leads from them are better than nothing, so keep up the good work.

I hear you...but if the free stuff you offer is UNREAL...and you help them loads then they will be willing to listen to offers...

When I started using this technique I actually sent them to an affiliate link, which converted at 1:66 ....not bad for an experiment.

It all depends on the phrase you enter into search.twitter.com

      is it

emotive (''need a job'',''need to lose weight'')

It's a nice compliment anyway to the ppc campaigns I've going

My findings has been that 99.99% of the traffic I have received from Twitter don't spent a darn penny.

I have roughly about 5K followers and was able to generate 2K click to CB products and not 1 sale.

3 different accounts in 3 different markets and zippo.

Yeah, I gotta echo what John Cabral just posted. I might be doing something wrong, but I do not find Twitter traffic to be worth a darn. It's still a fun platform, but I'm less and less thinking of it as part of my long-term plans. Could be a niche thing, too, I suppose.

Article marketing traffic is still the winner, in my experience. Those people are HOT to sign up, buy, take action. I'd put forum traffic in 2nd place. For what it's worth.

Well at first I thought the same thing, must be the niche but then I tried 6 different niches and picked a varied number of programs from each and still no sales.

Last night I had my twiiter software post ads on 3 of my accounts and I was able to generate 300 clicks over a 3 hour period and not one sale.

I even tried to send traffic to one of my optin pages and did not get 1 sign up in over 400 visitors.

I may be doing something wrong but only way I see for you to even get you posts seen is to almost be posting every 2 minutes.

People just get too many tweets to be able to read them.

I find that in order to get clicks you need to:

      A. Tweet at a time that people will most like login in to read posts.
      B. Tweet often (Spam by some) but really if you only send out a few tweets you can forget it. I did that and got like 2 clicks from 5K followers. When I do tweets every 2-5 minutes then I can get 100-600 clicks from posting 12-30 tweets per hour over a 3-4 period.

Most daily traffic has been almost 600 clicks in one day. Yet zero sales. How anyone is making sales on Twitter I don't know.

I know that when I use twitter and someone sends me a direct message I think that this is spam. You should be using twitter to enhance the relationship that you have with current customers.

If you become a leader in your niche by tweeting links to relavent content and showing that you're not just chasing the money then you'll find that the traffic becomes better quality.

It gets even better when you post a blog comment and people start retweeting it their friends, and done properly it can be very viral.
