    As IMers, we're not in the news business, however, you need to remember what our business is:

    Targeted Traffic > Our Monetization Funnel

    So your question should be, how do I use news to drive targeted traffic to make me money.

    Targeted traffic needs targeted content (select news content) Then
    Tweak targeted content to feature monetization funnel (niche product/service) Then
    Call to Action.

    I wouldn't use google ads to monetize unless you are already getting a load of visitors daily to your site - I would tweak the news aggregation and hone in on a specific target market you know how to reach.
