More services are getting Uberised

Uber. The app that pretty much changed it all. Before Uber pretty much all services were done "manually" - we had to do it ourselves. If we want to hail a cab, we'd either queue up a taxi lane, or hail a cab down the street. If we want to have food delivered to our doorstep, we'd call the delivery hotline. Right?

Now, almost everything can be made via an app. You want beer? There's an app for that. You live in Southeast Asia and needs a ride? Grab away. For Philippine users needing a motorcycle taxi, there's Angkas. For those in the US, there's of course Uber and Lyft.

And by next year there will be more "Uberised" apps - maybe an app-based laundromat. Who knows?

The Uber taxi service really is quite amazing and - you're right - more and more savvy businesses are looking at their model. It is only within that last couple of years that I have had my own mobile app for my website. Who knows what the future holds for us all?

That would do very well in some neighborhoods combined with folding and dry cleaning.

All the current state of APP is, is the logical extension / expansion of phone order delivery. The people that Mike Anthony mentions ( programmers ) need to be looking at Alexa and Google home apps. "Hey Google, order my regular from Pizza hut" and get a literal slice of the pie in the process... or "Hey Google, send my shopping list to Walmart" and why this one specifically isn't a thing yet I don't understand... I know at my house we use Google to keep our shopping list and then send it over to our phone when we goto the store.

I read an article I think it was earlier this year, could have been last year but near me there is a company that is like an Uber for pools.

Have a house with a pool? Rent it out.

They were catching heat because of insurance and liability issues but I thought it was a cool idea.

There are so many ideas for new "Uber-type" businesses.

I'm curious to what restaurant owners think of services like ubereats, does it make it easier for them to operate (this would be my guess) or does it impact them in a negative way

AirBNB and Uber were just the pioneers of using this. With artificial intelligence stepping in soon, there will be an explosion of new stuff. It is very interesting to watch.
