Hey you good people,

Hope your nearly ready for Christmas.

I am wanting to do some paid banner advertising for an adult site i have. I have worked on optimizing the landing page of my site. What things should i look for when buying paid advertisements, like alexa rank, how many people use the site etc. Should i keep my budget low initially and how can i track results?

Thank you very much for any advice you can give. Take care.

Jimmy

You can use the search function to find threads about ads and paid ads and free ads and banner ads...

    But here's the thing:

If you are advertising an adult site - those threads won't help you. You are in a niche where many advertising venues will not welcome you or your ads.

You may need to find an adult oriented forum or site for advice on advertising and what works and an be used in this specialized niche.

Many thanks for getting back to me Kay.

I completely understand your post and thanks for the information about using the search function.

However, in general what things should i look for when buying paid advertisements, like alexa rank, how many people use the site etc. This could be for a kids eCommerce store and other websites. Should i keep my budget low initially and how can i track results?

Based on your product or service you will be using the banner for kinda dictates WHO you need to be on the look out for. using the example "Kids ecommerce store" you will be looking for blogs or the like that attract the same type of client base you are looking for IE Parents, and preferably female parents.

How to track. each banner should have a designated landing page, can be per site ( if your banner may appear on multiple pages ) or if you want to get a REAL good understanding of the incoming traffic a per banner per page to a specific lander will get you the best detail of what is working and what isnt.

In terms of data to select which pages to go after? Alexa rank would not be one I consider - at all. I would do some very pointed searches and see who is ranking where... I would be looking for under advertised sites in the top 3 of a search and approach them.

I will assume you want to pay per click vs per impression, so the amount of traffic is of some concern but not much, but more specifically you want to ensure your offer is inline in CONTEXT to the page the banner is being placed. A banner for baby toys placed on a page where the topic is about teenage activities is not going to help mush regardless of traffic flow.

        Hope that Helps!

I don't know much about this subject, but I know Juicy Ads is one of the best platforms to buy ads in your niche. They let you see the websites in their network, choose by sub-niche and stats, and place a banner on the ones you like.

Regarding what you said, keep in mind that Alexa rank and other stats can be artificially inflated, so don't try to investigate these yourself. If you can't see real analytic data regarding the website you are buying ads from, it's hard to make an informed decision.

Hey if you would like to buy paid advertising i wouldnt go with Juicy Ads, i had very bad experience from them personally, wasnt worth the investment, i would recommend not to buy from them, very expensive and low ROI

OP, use an adult ad network for your ads

There are quite a number of them

Whatever you do, steer clear of POPUNDER traffic since Google is cracking down on this type of 'marketing'

Paid banner advertisements for adult sites can be super expensive, even on low quality websites. What you might want to consider is going to a couple of the x rated video sharing sites and look for forums attached to them. These types of forums attached to an adult video sharing site get tons of traffic. If you can find ways to leverage those types of forums then it can lead to far more opportunities than banner advertisements.

In addition to Alexa, try to look site statistics on Similarweb. There is an approximate number of monthly visitors. Unless of course the site is not very small.
