The ONE Habit that will Make or Break Your 2020

When I started online in 2002, I had no clue what I was doing.

I knew I'd need some information I could apply in order to
build a website.

So I bought a ton of books, ebooks, courses, and other products. Stuff like
how to set up HTML websites, getting traffic, and everything else I'd read from
folks who were supposedly doing well online.

I'd get an email from one of them and think "Ooh...
THAT could be the new secret I need to know".

I'd read something, apply it, and see if it worked.

Over the course of the next year... I built a million dollar fitness
business.

Looking back at that time now, I think the biggest reason
I was able to see results so fast?

I would only read ONE book on a subject I needed to
know about... and I'd start applying it asap.

Once I applied the stuff I learned, the real money came
in.

That's because the stuff I was reading and applying
was focused on creating more of my products and
reaching more people.

And after a while, I didn't need to keep reading and
reading a ton of books or other info.

Actually, I found that always reading new stuff was not only
confusing.. it kept me away from taking action, making offers,
and selling.

Instead, I focused on always trying to offer more products and
services of value to more people.

I TRULY believe that the habit of always feeling like you need
MORE information, another ebook, or another course...

That alone can stop your progress online.

Because if you always feel like you need another secret or
piece of info... you're going to keep looking.

You're going to keep buying stuff, reading stuff, and searching
for the next secret.

But at a point, ALL of that continuous reading, learning, and
buying just keeps you away from what really matters...

Selling.

So, by creating a habit of always offering good products or
services of value to more and more people... you can create
a very profitable business.

Then, once you do see a course or product that will help you
do MORE of that... you can decide if you want to buy it.

But always buying stuff JUST to look for that one new secret...
it prevents you from focusing on building your business.

And the habit of always trying to find new secrets or new info can
keep you trapped in the same place in 2020.

After all, you can't focus on selling and making money if you're
always buying or reading.

My advice... find out what you want to offer and sell...

Then reverse engineer and look for the info you need to
do just that.

Focus on building a habit of offering more stuff of value
to more people... which brings in the sales and income.

Focus on building a habit of CREATING versus consuming...
SELLING instead of buying.

If you treat 2020 like you did in 2019 by always buying and
reading new stuff... you're going to keep going around in circles.

Instead, focus on building a habit of creating products/services
of value that you can sell... then try to reach as many people
as possible.

That alone will help point you in the right direction in terms
of what knowledge or info you really need... so you can drop
the rest.

Best of luck in 2020!

Creating products and then try to reach as many people as possible - Agreed!

This is what i'm doing now and i can tell you that, it's great!

From affiliate to vendor, making passive income is easier

Because other affiliate promote my product as well.

Most importantly is when we create products, we know it best

so we can have effective plan to promote and make sales

    Amazing!

Great post. Focus is key. This is what I tell people.

If you are trying to learn something new, purchase the best course or book you can find on that subject and study it. Once you have studied it, APPLY what you learned and focus on tweaking and improving that.

I believe that's much better than listening to 10 different experts on the same subject who say 10 different things. Find one mentor and follow their lead. And please, make sure you IMPLEMENT what they teach you. Otherwise, you are wasting your time and money!

    Great stuff!

I wish I would have read that--when I was first starting out--it would have saved me a bunch of time.

If I could inject on this to this,it would be.

Find one business model you like--be it adsense, affiliate marketing, blogging, videos, etc.

And then do it--and don't stop!

When I think of how many projects that I have stopped and started--man! just to have one of those going right now--.

    Just pick something--and do it!

    Hope this helps!

Excellent advice. I've been marketing since 1992 and in my experience you are bang on.
This is the best advice going. Sadly, most people are too attracted to "shiny objects." They just don't often appear capable of transcending that.

It's so true. I remember always doing the same - searching and buying tons of ebooks, guides about a new 'secret' method and as you said doing it prevents you from focusing on your business.

Even right now, when I have a business and could focus on it 100%, sometimes I search for new 'secret' stuff and reading it and thinking maybe I should start another business which will be more profitable and forgot the main most important stuff - customers/providing value to people.

We always want to make more, earn more, have a bigger house, expensive car by searching a new way to make tons of money, but we forget that all these nice things like car, house and so on will come to us if in the first place we concentrate on the current business and providing value to customers.

Nah. In my youth, I used to focus on women's butts for hours on end. I mean, really focus. Alas, it made me not one penny.

I'll never forget it... I was in a mastermind back in 2005 or so.

One of the guys in the group was running a $100,000 per month
membership site.. dedicated to candid pics of the female backside.

I just remember shaking my head... thinking that literally ANY idea
could be made into a business.

The one habit that is SURE to break ANYONE'S 2020 or 3030 for that matter is..........

    (drum roll)

    The Shiny Object Syndrome

When you've decided to do something....... DO that ONE thing.

    Go all the way.

DO NOT, under any circumstances, stop once something 'interesting' comes along

Stop only if you've fully decided to do the new thing 100%

Otherwise, you'll leave a TRAIL of broken dreams and potential along the way
