Are people still investing in offline marketing?

I mean obviously they are there are so many brands which are focusing on offline marketing but my main question is, are they getting their profit from that? Online marketing is simply the best, you have easy potential customer pull, you can reach out to as many people as you want to so there is no doubt in its effectiveness. So why people are investing so much in offline marketing these days.

    Because it works.

Because they have proof it works, to be precise.

There are still people who never buy online.
There are people who buy online but your ads online miss.

The great Google advertises offline. For Google AdWords!

Because it works. Just look up d2d sales on youtube and see some of the money that is made just by door knocking. Or visit the offline section here on the forum.

I would think that offline marketing is still profitable because there is still a good amount of people out there who are not tech savvy, hate the computer, or just don't trust making purchases online. So, there still has to be a means of targeting those groups of people.

The same reason why people are hosting Webinars these days - because they work and convert well.

It's the same with offline marketing. A couple of days ago, I saw a billboard with the soda I used to drink a lot but haven't tasted it in 5 years. Well, fast forward, I bought that same soda after a few days.

    In short YES

There is a whole world out there. Yes.

Yes, a lot of people still prefer offline marketing instead of online marketing but this still depends on what kind of business are you running.

  • Do you really think it is important to continue investing in offline marketing when the world is so digitalized?

      Yes, yes I do.
So does Google and Chase Bank and many, many more. Reason: you can make good money with it. Strange question after previous posts. Did you read them?

I see the majority of the world buying and searching online .Online is definitely the place to be if you want to capitalize on traffic coming from search engines , youtube, pod casting, blogging etc.... I do think that offline marketing is useful just as long as it is integrated with social media

I've consulted with heavy equipment manufacturers that have websites and do digital marketing, but they still produce printed materials, magazine ads and catalogs.

I think the economy is very large and diverse and you cannot pigeon whole one way to market to all markets. I mean Mobile Commerce is about to eclipse ecommerce in total volume. More people will buy with their phones then from websites buy 2025.....BUT I doubt anyone will buy a tractor via their phone. So no form of marketing is truly obsolete. They may loose influence, but are still valid.

65% of all internet traffic now days is mobile...and yeah mobile commerce is a subset of ecommerce. Still more will be buying on portables than desktops, laptops etc.

I would like to say, it mat b depends on which types of business you are in.

Although being A Digital Marketer, I would prefer to go to a known middleman, to find me a new house while shifting. And, I am not the only one.

Few People still don't trust the quality of the product if you are selling it online. But, if there is a new shop opened of the same niche, you can see some footfall in the shop

Reason people invest more in Offline marketing is that most of them did not get better result and had to switch back to the traditional marketing they were used to. simple

What do you mean, switch back? They, most likely, started with online and added offline or added online if they are a brick and mortar business. If they added online, they dud not stop the offline. You stop only what dies not produce good ROI, even if you add another way.

Base on my research, observation and survey, Yes Online marketing increase the popularity and sales of a certain business, we can't deny that. Now, talking about offline marketing nowadays, some of us conclude that it is useless anymore. However, Locally speaking, for local business specially for startup and small business, to gain trust and reputation and to get that "follow" and "likes" from local customers offline marketing is the best strategy.....

We do. Honestly, there are still a lot of folks in our area who get their shopping deets from TV and the radio. So invest in offline marketing too just as much as we do with online marketing, as well as services like webtrafficgeeks. it really helps to balance things out for your business.

  • Offline marketing will always work. When I'm at a Driver's license testing center, and prospects sees the driving school signage on my vehicle, I get instant clients especially when one of my clients has just passed their driver's license test with my driving school.

The prospects are warm leads who may have just passed their written exam and immediately want to commence with driving lessons.

I have approached a number of home owners in my target areas, and got their permission to have my signage painted on their walls facing busy highways. This generates free traffic for my driving school and I have an endless amount of new clients booking driving lessons with my driving school daily.

Offline marketing works well in today's economy for many businesses, and it will continue to do so for the next hundred years. The invention of the computer, didn't necessarily replace newspaper printing. There are still plenty of newspapers in circulation today.

Believe it or not the good ole fashioned - handing out flyers, posting bills, billboards and not to forget knocking on doors still works 100%!

It just has to depend like other warriors here have mentioned - on what type of biz you're trying to market!

What about people who have internet for years and know how to use it? Yet still receive offline marketing all the time.

Example - Anderson Windows have sent out letters to all home owners a letter this month to replace there windows. Century 21 local agent sent flyers or recent homes sold in the neighborhood. How do you explain that ?

If a strategy is producing ROI for a business, it doesn't matter if it is online of offline. If it works, it works.

Yes, people are getting profit from offline marketing too. Nowadays, people believe in digital or online marketing but that doesn't mean that offline marketing is dead. It is as important as online marketing because your brand doesn't exist online only. However, there is no doubt that online marketing is quite simple and more result-oriented than offline marketing, but, offline marketing also helps. Here is how:

Direct mail has the 3rd highest ROI behind email and social media
68% of marketers today plan to expand their digital strategy into TV ads

These statistics will show how powerful offline marketing can be.

It mainly depends upon your budget, and it also depends upon what niche products/services you are selling !!!

You can't get the best ROI for B2C market in offline marketing if you don't have that many budget

Local business can use offline marketing very well. Things like selling affiliate marketing forums, mlm, coaching can be done offline. But online business can be automated and thats where you can experience the time freedom which we all want...
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11577030].message }}
  • Offline marketing is not completely redundant in today's digital crazy world. It does depend what kind of business you are in. There are certain businesses that still require a combination of both. It also depends as well on the profile of your target audience. You would not want to miss a high potential niche profile who is not digital savvy, do you ?
