What To Do With Sales Letter?

This is a silly question, I'm sure.

I've been working on my copy and developed a sales letter for one program I offer priced at $497

Once I wrote it, I realized I didn't know what to do with it.

Do I throw this on Clickfunnels? then send warm traffic to it? Do I actually email the long-form to my list? What's the best approach here?

    Admittedly, I'm probably the wrong person to answer your question: I've never written a long-form sales letter. I don't sell products costing $497. I've never used Clickfunnels.

    But it seems to me, you're putting the cart before the horse. Wouldn't it be better to figure out who you're trying to reach and how you're planning to reach them and then -- and only then -- develop the copy that you need to do the job? Web content is different than social media content which is different from email content. And depending on who your customers are, who you are and how you're trying to differentiate yourself your web, social and email content may vary significantly.

    Right now you seem like the proverbial carpenter whose only tool is a hammer (and thus for whom all problems look like a nail.) Instead of worrying about where to put your letter, I'd take a step back and think about your business and marketing goals and strategy and then decide what sort of copy (or whatever else) you might need to fulfill those. Maybe it's a long-form letter, but maybe it's not.

    You put it in front of people who would be interested it what you are selling.

    Are the people on your list the kind of people who would be interested in it?

    Buy a list of likely people and email it to them.

    Put it on your site and send traffic to it (seo and paid ads).

    First you find a group of people who have a problem; then you find a solution to their problem; then you tell them about your solution.

    Did you start at the end?

    Sorry, I should have given more context.

    The list I have is mine, not purchased, all subscribed via my site. It's like 2k. I already use ClickFunnels, that's why I asked about that.

    The copy is actually applicable to my clients. I wrote it for them.

    My question is more about the channel to use and the way to go about delivering it. I've never specifically written a long-form sales letter before. I was wondering how people normally use it within their business. I'm talking about a traditional, direct response sort of letter.

      Build a sales page on CF then send a pre-sell email to your list.

      You could email your list and tell them about the product directly... but maybe instead, create a number of emails that pre-sell the product.

      For example, if your product is in the "widget warming" niche (very crowded, I hear), create emails that get into the appealing aspects of widget warming, and that can be nicely tied in to what you have to offer. Then point readers to your sales letter, which you'll have put on a website somewhere. You can do the same pre-selling with blog posts.

    This way you've QUALIFIED your traffic

      This right here. This is what it looks like.

      Take your pool of people and pass them through some kind of filter to separate those you want from those you don't. That's the email sign up page.

      Then warm them up with content. That's your newsletter/special content... you could do this in different formats eg. email series of a story. THEN you send them to the sales letter. I'd send 3-4 content pieces, then start giving the opportunity to go to the sales letter at the end of the next emails.

      Sometimes people need repeated opportunities to see the sales page and buy. They may be busy on attempt #1... and come back for a serious read on #2... and finally on the third click on over from email hardly read the sales letter at all, but go directly to the buy link at the bottom.

      Your sales letter is the final point on a string of traffic generation, capture, filtering, warm up and finally conversion opportunities. It doesn't have to be complicated: I could do this in just 3 or 4 steps... but you could take as many as you like.

      And I want to highlight that you do NOT have to rely on the prospect only going to the sales page one time: you can give them the chance to go over there again and again. Just don't shove it in their face at the start of the process.

    Your sales letter is your hard work so use it to capture more leads by linking it to your online ads and bring the traffic to your sales letter, which is like your landing page.

    Whether to email your long form sales letter to your list depends on the origin of your list. If this list was built based on the same program that is priced at $497 then this list of people would have already been acquainted to your product thus to follow-up on this list before it becomes cold leads, is to reiterate and remind them of your program from another sales angle (eg. like re-surfacing the common pain points, etc).

    I wouldn't send any traffic directly to the sales page. That was the point in building the list in the first place, right? So, you write emails. Engage your readers. Build trust. Send them to sales page.

    Repeat.

    Where you host the page is irrelevant.

    Create a light version of the product, along with a light version of the ad copy and offer it as a WSO.

    If you already have a list, introduce them to the product, and simply lead them to your sales letter page. Since it's $497, i would generate leads for it first - and sell it to backend customers - instead of just leading traffic to a long form sales page first.
