How much is too much info

Hi all

I have a question for my fellow warriors, how much is too much information for each of your subscribers

I have a lot of information to relay and give to my subscribers but I don't want to overload them with too much info, I don't want them to unsubscribe from my list because of this

so is it fair to say that 2 emails a week is enough or maybe more, or even less

your thoughts are welcome

It's about the quality of info, and if you give them incentives from time to time they will stay on your list.

Frequency depends on the type of information usually 1/week is good after your initial series of emails.

I agree.Sending too often will make them unsubscribe and too seldom will probably generate spam complaints.

I think that is decided by content quality. If you're telling me something informative & interesting, twice a week is fine with me, in fact I look forward to receiving it & might not mind a Mon, Wed, Fri mailing.

However, I have been hit with "BUY ME" pushers that don't listen when I un-subscribe & have grown incredibly tired of it. If a spam complaint to the domain and server admin doesn't work, the next move is CC the complaint to the domain registrar as well. Read your GoDaddy TOS to understand what happens then :-)

I guess the moral of the story is follow the rules, deliver useful content to your readers, let them leave if they like & you shouldn't have a problem.

Sending more than 2 a week may incur anger and unsubsciption

    Hi Kishor,

I think there is no definite answer for this question as it will depends on the kind of list that you have. If you are providing useful information for free, I don't think that your subscribers will mind if they receive your email.

I feel that the best thing to do is to test and track so that you will know the numbers of emails you should send per week to get the best response.

    Hope my humble contribution helps

      Great advice!

I must add thought that I find myself unsubscribing from lists that send out more than one email a week. I know there are some great marketers with great info out there to share but if it can't be said in one email a week they are wasting my time when I have to read several emails a week. Most have a blog anyhow and if I want more info than once a week I will often subscribe to their blog.

One technique I have seen that is effective is offering and incentive through a rss feed to get subscribers to sign up to your list.
