$500 a month? Is it a possible?

Im kinda new to internet marketing. I do have a server and I made my first website not so long ago. It turns out websites on mma and what not do not create alot of revenue though. I get alot of visiters, about 5000 a month now mostly directed from youtube and not at all from google. I know my ads arnt placed right but i think its just a dead market..

I know there are alot of people making some good money from clickbank, adsence and amazon..Im just kind of in the woods as to what I should do to start. I have alot of time on my hands because I lost my job and im desperate to make some income of any kind right now just to survive. So if anyone can help me and recomend a good step by step ebook or start from scratch with no money type tutorial to make even a realistic flow of money from affiliate marketing it would be great.

Even if i can manage a few sites and make $500 a month it would help huge. I have nothing but time to dedicate right now so all i need is a push in the right direction..thx
#$500 #month

I think you can earn money faster with your own product, and setup affiliate program to promote it

The key to good affiliate product is high commission, good content, good customer support and "GREAT affiliate resources!"

    Great affiliate resources includes:

    1. Ready tons of good seed keywords
    2. Ready landing page for different keyword focus theme
    3. Ready banner and text links for blogger and email promotion

Just join one of your competitor's affiliate list, and ask them to promote your product, if only ONE starting to do so, you will see many affiliates start to join the game!

It is very possible. Myself and many others here do it already. It does take work though. I put in lots of 12 hour days. A lot of it can be very mind-numbing ... backlinks, article submissions, SEO work. Some people outsource a lot of that stuff. I do some outsourcing of that but rarely do I find freelancers whose work is worth the effort. The old saying "if you want it done right..." springs to mind

I'd say the absolute most important thing you need is determination. It can seem thankless at first. Three days of work now can mean payoff in a few weeks (but not always...)

You could also learn the basics for free ... try a course like 30 Day Challenge but honestly it takes a lot of constant effort, research, and hard work.

edit - this business is not (usually) a get rich quick scheme....almost every success I read about involves someone who puts the extra effort in. Stay in touch here and you'll be inspired often

if you can create products and mini launches, you can make a lot more than $500 a month. this is the system I am teaching my students: I learned that from my teacher, Robert Plank.

Along the same lines are unique products to be sold on Flippa. You could probably make at least one a month and sell it for $300-500 there.

You know the ones where they do all the associated sales page, graphics, affiliate info and sell it as a package on Flippa...

It's really unlimited how much you can make your first month. My very first month creating a product online and selling it I made over $4,000 with PPC. But I chose a very hot product with little competition and it was during X-mas season. Get in front of a hungry crowd and give them what they want.

If you need money right now, I would suggest talking to some local businesses and helping them either set-up a website or promote it. You can easily charge $1k for a simple wordpress design with a few pages about their company.

hmm selling websites wasnt really what I had in mind and "quick" cash isnt exactly what im looking for. I want to set up a bunch of niche/affiliate sites and run on auto so to say..I have the time to promote them, submit articles and what not im just not 100% on where to start and what method works best.

I was actualy thinking of buying sites from flippa not selling, seems to me that its not very hard to make your own wordpress content for free though. I do realise there is no get rich quik in this game but im just trying not to get lost in the whole thing.

Ill try the 30 Day Challenge and see who it goes..thx 1001

p.s is co.cc the best place for free domains for if I wanted to make a niche store video niche type site or should i stick to free worpress blogs

        Hey Justinsane,
The 30DC is the real deal. Follow Ed's lead and you'll start making money.
Creating your own virtual product and selling it on Clickbank is another winner. You can make decent money as an affiliate marketer, but becoming a vendor should be one of your main goals.
Finally, don't overlook E-Bay. They get like a billion clicks a month and everyone is looking to buy something. Think about what type of info product you could burn to a CD-Rom and sell there.
The important thing is to get into a routine. Decide what the most important things are for building your business, and be sure to consistently do them every single day.
Remember, $500 per month is like $17 a day. YES - You Can Do This!!!

Ya u see theres alot of talk about creating your own products and software but thats way way out of my legue.. I just want some of the "low hanging fruit" for right now then move on to better things as i get the hang of this..

One thing i was wondering though is if im putting out several websites is it best to use a free domain service like co.cc or should i just use worpress blogs?

I tend to use both Blogger and Wordpress free as a sort of extra link to my "real" page. I wouldn't recommend them personally ... plus you don't have the kind of control you do with your own domain.

Now if you're willing to step up learning a bit, you could host on something like NearlyFreeSpeech.Net ... https://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/services/pricing , learn to use FTP and set-up DNS, MySQL, and other applicable technologies. That kind of extra technical knowledge won't hurt you in this business. (edit - Also found this site, which is about 75p a month for 50Mb hosted ... btw, I have no affiliation with either of these...Just something I've stumbled across in my journeys)

You can start for a $1 worth of hosting (it's pay as you use and cheap to scale) ... and get yourself a $1 .info site (although honestly I would shell out the $10 for a .com/.net/.org) ... Get a little creative and you're talking less than a Big Mac to get started.

            --Jack

p.s. - a lot has been made of .info sites being hard to rank but I've done it before...although it is definitely easier with the top tier ones ... but hey if you've got more time than money, it could be a good choice

Free domains are definitely NOT the way to go. Spend $10 and get a .com domain. Start a blog on Word Press and do a domain forward. The search engines love blogs and assign greater authority to .com domains.
Post to your blog every single day. At the top of each post put a banner ad for an affiliate product related to your niche (choose 3 Clickbank products and alternate them).
Finally, take action to drive traffic to your blog every day. This can be nothing more then submitting an article to Ezine Articles.com. You can do more if you want. Just be sure to at least one thing each day.
That's the low hanging fruit. It's simple, but not that easy. The secret is ALWAYS getting yourself to take action. Once you put yourself on a routine it becomes second nature - That's when it gets easy!

This is what I read as most important in your post -- so the answer still stands as helping out a local business. Most are desperate at the moment and will want your help in getting online and getting more traffic to their business. You can easily walk out with a check of $1k+ before you even do any work.

Nothing is "auto" in this industry. Some stuff lasts longer than others but it all requires work to maintain it.

Alright, I'll give you a tip to make the fastest $1k in 15 days "only" if you work on it.

    1. Make an ebook on what IM'ers would like, something useful for the IM'ers. (Social Bookmarking, Link Building techniques, etc) - a bit research needed
    2. Must be a UNIQUE eBook and get the PROOF! Be honest with it.
    3. Setup the payment and stuff with e-junkie.com
    4. Market it on WarriorForum as a WSO ($20). The ebook should be priced at $10 to get the most value.
    5. At the same time, make a website for this, get a cheap design done for less than $50
    6. In 10 days, you should have earned about $500. (BUMP it whenever it reaches page 3)
    7. Then list the website for sale in Flippa.com with a BIN price of $1000
    8. It should get sold in less than 5 days ..

    I hope this helped

    Hi Justin,

I put my first money site up about a month ago in a particular niche, just gradually promoting it via article directories, social bookmarking, web 2.0, video sites, etc and my commissions up until yesterday were $3000...i seriously can't believe it!

My plan is to find products to promote which were quite high in price and paid high commissions. This way you make much more per sale and you just repeat the whole process with different products.

So yes it is WELL possible.

    Hi justinsane187

When I saw the title to this thread I thought I'd pop in and say "yes $500/month is very doable" but after reading the thread I think maybe a little more is in order.

The first thing I would do is make a list of the resources you have at your disposal.

    1. do you have time to work on it every day

    2. hosting (I do have a server) not sure if that means you have a hosting acct or an actual server.

    3. domains...what domains do you already own

    4. knowledge...what special knowledge do you have

    5. skills...what special skills do you have

    6. marketing tools...plugins for wordpress would fall in this category (there a many good free ones)

The list could go on but I think that is enough to give you a good start.

The next thing I would do is read this thread:

Internet Marketing Product Reviews & Ratings

Not to find a product to buy but to find a method that you want to learn so that you can make money online.

Now...research this forum and others and learn everything you can about that method. There is enough free info and tools out here that if you search enough you'll find everything you'll need.

For somebody who is new and trying to learn I suggest using wordpress blogs to get started...there are so many free plugins to help build a good site and promote it.

I do not want to suggest any one method because what works great for me may not work for you....if you are persistent and consistent you will find a way that works for you.

    best of luck to you

I might be slightly off topic here, but I'm hoping that someone will see this question and throw me a bone. I've looked for a thread to post this on and can't keep from running into interesting topics (this thread is case in point), and then side-tracked (I think I might need medication:confused. This forum is a GREAT place to get lost for a day ... which is a whole other problem. Anyway, I've run across a handful of "off line" businesses (by that I mean, they have a basic website, but I've found them off line) that have products that I think would make good affiliate items (unique products, in my opinion). When I approach them, I have to assume that they will have to be educated in affiliate marketing, but my question is logistical ... if I want to try to "affiliatize" some/all of their products, how do I create a link or a way of selling their items so they know that I'm the one responsible for the business they're getting? Do I just set up my own website or landing page and then forward orders to them? That seems too cumbersome though, so is there a way of tying a site, I have, to theirs? I would appreciate any help, suggestions, comments, etc... that anyone may have. Thank you.

Look for an affiliate link on their site. If they don't have affiliates, you can't be an affiliate (obviously). You could try to resell their crap, but that's usually pointless as you'd have to charge more to make a profit which puts you at an instant disadvantage.

If they do have an affiliate program you can sign up to it and they'll give you a link through which to send visitors.

30dc is a nice intro but keep in mind it gives you the absolute basics and you go after the lowest-hanging fruit. There is very little risk involved but you're probably going to have to get a bit creative to make it work for a full-time income as it stands.

Pay very close attention to one of the last videos where it explains what the limitations are. The course you take doesn't really show you the big opportunities like: JV opportunities, product launches, networking, list swapping, and so-on ... all of that stuff comes from time and experience.

I have a few blogger blogs that earn decent money, but it's taken 4+ months for them to even get indexed by yahoo and bing. It will take about a year before all of them combined will bring in $500. However when your working with SEO you have to be willing to wait it out a bit.

    Free....??? No problem....
    1] Use blogger.com to create blogs..its free
2] Find keywords that get a good search volume 5k+ a month using the google keyword tool
3] Check out the competition using the "keyword" method. Anything under 100k is okay, less is faser
4] Register the blog name with the "keyword" in the blog name, blog title, and sprinkle the keyword in the content a few times.
5] Write 1 article seperate from website and submit to ezine articles with an anchor text link back to your site. (Don't use your keywords in your article as that will compete against your site. I use relative topics and then use an anchor text links back to the site....for instance if your main keywords are "dog food" then your relative can be anything about dogs...like "how to feed your dog". example
6] Repeat set #5 but use Goarticles.
Wait one week and check to see if everything is set correctly..site indexed and articles are live.

Rinse & Repeat 4 per day. That 4 free blogger blogs that can earn like $5/day per site...so that $25 /day.

ONce you build up a nice bank roll then you can flip that process into domains and selling them for a heavy profit.

It sounds like you already have some decent traffic. I'd suggest learning more about what your traffic is interested in. VIsit other similar sites to see how people are monetizing. Heck, if you have to you can even ask your visitors what they'd like to see!

Experiment with a few different offers. What types of things are in the adsense ads that are running? This may be a possibility too.

      Hi Justinsane187,

Yes, it is possible, and I think, not very hard to do.

I suggest you start a niche marketing campaign. Choose a niche you feel comfortable with, and get a list of the problems that people in that niche have. Then, think about the solutions.

Create a few products for those people - ebooks. Solve one or two major problems for those people, in each ebook.

You should set up a simple squeeze page, and give one of the ebooks to people for free, in exchange for their name and email address. (Yes, you will need to get AWeber services, or any other autoresponder).

The other ebooks you should promote to your list, on every 4-5 message or so. Your ebooks should not be very expensive. The first one you can start selling at say $9, the next one - at $14, and so on. Just make sure you provide value, so people will buy your next ebook.

This is just a basic setup. Of course, it requires some work. But when you set this up, you just need to drive traffic. And this campaign will make you at least $500 every single month. Many times, even more than that.

If you're into affiliate marketing I would check out Ewn Chia and Rosalind Gardner. But if you want to make more than that-a lot more- then think about what you're good at, that you love and see if there is a market for it where you can solve your target markets problems. I built a 6 figure income from the ground up doing that with ebooks and teleseminars and it was a lot easier and faster than affiliate marketing for me. I make a few grand a month from affiliate marketing but I don't focus on it- it's more of a courtesy to my students.
