Just had my account closed at youtube.

I have absloutly no idea why. Recently uploaded four articles from my blog, using video submit robot, but can't see any problems with that.
I mean there is no copyright issues, no bad language and no images that could cause a problem.
Even more frustration is trying to contact them. They make it almost impossible. You end up going round in circles on their help page.
I just don't know what to do next!

That's too bad man. I'm sorry to hear that. I've never heard of that happening before unless there was some duplicate content issues.

If they saw your auto submits as spam then that might be where the problem is.

Good luck figuring it out bro...

Just try to search on Google what people do when their account is closed. Contact them and ask them for the problem. This should be sorted soon. Don't worry, if you didn't do anything wrong, it will be reinstated.

You may want to check with the guys behind this: video submit robot.

And make sure to let us know why it was closed.

Right I have had a reply back but it is very unsatisfactory.

Thanks for your email. Your "Starman474" account has been found to have
violated our Community Guidelines. Your account has now been terminated.
Please be aware that you are prohibited from accessing, possessing or
      creating any other YouTube accounts.

YouTube staff review flagged videos 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to
determine whether they violate our Community Guidelines. When a video or
account is brought to our attention, we investigate and take action if
      necessary.

We are unable to provide specific details regarding your account
suspension or your video's removal. For more information on what we
consider inappropriate content or conduct while using YouTube, please
visit our Community Guidelines and Tips at

This is beyond me. I really have no idea on gods earth why they would say that.
I had one video up there warning people about a camera I bought and some problems that I had with it. That video has been there for about 5 months.
A video with me talking about a free report that I am writing.
Then this week I used some robot software which just talks some articles from my blog.
      ?????
      So six videos in all.
Maybe the camera one broke some rules, but I don't think so. I have seen much worse on there.
If this stands, then I can no longer use youtube and this is a massive blow to me. A lot of my future plans involved youtube.

        How ironic, right?
I`m sure that kind of response wouldn`t be appreciated with even less important sites. But YT?

Well, only thing I could suggest you is to explain again things to them.
Say you did detailed Community Guidelines and Tips research and that you didn`t find any violation. You didn`t do anything wrong.

Be kind and polite but let them know that you didn`t do anything wrong.
People (even at YT) are making mistakes, but all can be fixed if there is a good will.

And, most important, keep up the good spirit, Andy.
Don`t let any possible rejection take you off of your road.
Do whatever you can, but don`t let things outside of your control distract you from your vision and goals.
Just believe in your plans, work persistently and results will come.

        Remember what Thomas A.Edison said:
"Nearly every man who develops an idea works at it up to the point where it looks impossible, and then gets discouraged. That's not the place to become discouraged."

I have seen this same thing happen to BIG time people including probably the biggest fitness video guy on YouTube.

BOOM - account gone. No reason for it and no recourse to take with them.

Sorry to tell you this but the bottom line is that you pretty much have to start from scratch. They are completely unreasonable and won't help you at all.

I have basically just got my mind set on the fact that it's not a case of IF you'll get banned from youtube, it's WHEN. It will happen, and when it does, you pretty much have to either start again or accept it and move on.

Really sorry that it happened to you.

They have the right to do what they want within the terms, it's a shame they don't say what's wrong.
Upload your stuff again to few separate accounts. Can set them up from various IP addresses.
Use other video sites. Contrary to what others think youtube is not the only one.
Submission using robot may be regarded as spamming, plus the way robots work may cause problems for servers.
There's a visible crazy notion these days to clean up the web from spam and affiliate links, so many services change the terms and conditions, it's worth to check the guidelines from time to time to stay on top of things.

Simply sign up for new accounts using different emails and possibly even through a proxy server if you want to hide your IP address.

I am sorry to say this but it teaches us all a lesson about having our business spread across multiple accounts, just in case this happens and I don't mean just Youtube.

If its not on your domain/hosting its not fully in your control.

This is most likely the problem. The OP used a robot service already.

Places like YouTube, DailyMotion, etc want quality not quantity, and having videos loaded "en masse" does not signify quality.

Simon, you've touched on one of my big hot buttons here - many times the success of a given tactic depends on proper execution.

This is a prime example. Re-purposing content by reading it into audio form, and adding relevant images that add to the value of the content is a valid ploy. Some clever person sees that and figures that adding multiple images at select times to enhance the script is too much work. So they change "relevant images, diagrams, etc." to a single stock image of a bikini babe. The next step is skipping the stock image in favor of a blank screen with a URL on it. Reading two minutes of text is still a lot of work, though, so why not use a text-to-speech converter? Pretty soon, you have a computer voice reading a crappy spun article while the only visual is a slide with a URL, and calling it a "video".

You get something like a race horse standing next to one of those tired old ponies that walk around a circle at a carnival. Technically, they're both horses, but they are clearly different animals. Putting a racing plate on the pony and calling it a racehorse does not make it one.

I'm not slamming on Andy B here. If he came afoul of YouTube, and he obviously did, he deserves a real explanation of what he did wrong.

Okay, someone hit the reset button on my rant program, so I'm going to go get another cup of coffee...

I see what you're saying, but using TubeMogul doesn't mean that videos are not quality. I submit quality videos all of the time using TubeMogul...it's simply saves me from having to manually upload my videos to 20 different video sites.

It simply sends one video to multiple sites.

I think the quality problem comes from using the article video robot thingy (didn't even know it existed).

If you use a different email address there's no way for them to connect your new account to the old one.

That's true for most online services. If you get suspended, get a new email address and sign up again.

The thread however shows one thing clearly:
Do not rely on other people's web sites ever to build your business.
Focus on building your own web real estate.

Use other sites like Youtube, Twitter etc. only as part of your marketing, never let any one of them become too important for your business.

If this is what you did, it might be the reason why you got nailed.

Just like the assorted programs that made "made for Adsense" sites en masse, YouTube/Google may have decided that the foot print you left with the robot fit their "spammer" profile. Guilt by association.

If that was it, good luck getting an account reinstated. A couple of years ago, I cheesed off a guy that was scraping my sites and stripping the links, claiming the articles as his own. I reported the sites I found doing it and he retaliated by click-frauding me to smithereens. Even though Google acknowledged that I did nothing wrong, they still said I represented a threat to their advertisers. So no Adsense account for John...

There are a handful of sites that, for me at least, merit submitting by hand, and YouTube is one of them...

I know EXACTLY why they terminated your account.

Copied Verbatim from YouTubes Terms of Service:

"You agree not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," that accesses the Website in a manner that sends more request messages to the YouTube servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser."

I would say they banned you for their part bolded up top.

That is probably it. I think TubeMogul and Traffic Geyser have special arrangements with the video sites to allow the use of a "robot", but maybe the robot you used is considered a spammer to their system.

        Or it could be:
Everyone hates spam. Don't create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. It's not okay to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages.

      Hi Andy

Sorry to hear about your hassles, YT do themselves no favours with this kind of stupidy because people simply sign up again and make the same mistakes, at least tell poeple what the actual problem is so they can improve in my thoughts.

      That said, two issues.

      1) Video Article Robot is used by a friend of mine to a LOT of video sites incluing YT and he tells me he's had no issues so I just can't see that it got you banned but you just never know. I would wager it was more the content than the process, Tubemogul has a footprint the size of a Yeti and I've had no problems with mass submissions.

      2) I would ask YT as to which video it was that got you banned, explain that you have carefully read the T&C and simply can't see any rules you broke and could they please give you some idea as to what element of which video caused the issue

3 You are FAR from banned from YT, simply go grab yourself a half dozen proxies or if you can simply reflush your IP on your router, use a new e-mail address with a new IP address and set yourself up a new account.

Meanwhile on a slightly different note, I work with a guy who does the same thing as Video Article Robot but manually, bottom line how long does it really take to simply talk into a microphone and read your article yourself versus that canned robot version, such a short amount of time in reality and it will get listened so much more and rated so much more highly.

Some short cuts are worth taking, others simply don't really save that much time and you'll get a much better conversion from a static image accompanied by a real voice than you will from metal mickey reading your blog post out.

Consider that YouTube is not profitable by a long shot and you may

Ok. Good point. I know people are putting out these "videos"
read by a robot voice now. Ostensibly it's about serving the
blind community or something, but with a wink-wink it's just
another way to spin articles and overload the web with
    content of dubious merit.

YouTube has programs that go through the videos and look
for telltale signs, like copyrighted music. It wouldn't surprise
me if Google is working on algorhythms to give them the power

My experience with YouTube is if a video comes to their attention (flagged by the community, for example) they will take down that one video and give you a warning that if another of your videos breaks the community rules within 6 months then your account will be closed. I think I still have about 2 months to run before one of my accounts is 'safe' once more.

A quick update guys. My account has been reinstated. No explaination of what was wrong though.
Will certainly change the way I do things from now on though. Live and learn and all that.
Thanks for all the replies to this post, the warrior forum is a great place to hang out.

I'm really pleased to hear that, Andy. I thought at the time that closing an entire account for what could well just have been one submission that they didn't like was a bit extreme. It seemed to me like they were cutting off their own noses to spite their faces - maybe they took another look and thought the same. It's a bit skanky that they won't tell you what the problem was though. That's a ridiculous way to treat people if they don't want to invite them to do more of the same.

      Well done on getting reinstated

Did you send them a second email, or did they just reinstate it out of the blue? I really hate that Google/Youtube is not obligated to tell you why they cancelled an account!

However, from what everyone here says it certainly sounds like the robot articles were the issue, and I agree with the goal of not filling up the internet with spam content of no value.

I just wish Youtube would simply say so, so you could fix the problem.

I would contact Google. They have a phone number. You never know who you'll speak with - sometimes you'll find someone nice enough to tell you the reason or what to do in this case.

The operator is not the same. Try at different hours. What it will cost you? For a very small rate, you can even call from Skype.

In a loosely related situation, an operator gave me an idea that I've never thought of about how to solve my problem.

I forgot to ask - did they reinstate all your videos too? Just wondered if they'd deleted anything and expected that to tell you where the problem lay.

Diana, all the videos were reinstated as well, nothing has changed. I did email them a second time and asked for some advice. Next reply was we have reinstated your account.
Have sent another email politely asking for the reason and did they want me to delete any videos. Don't want to push it though, just glad that I can use the account again.
I take it on board what someone else said about the robots as well. I will not go down that road again. It wasn't that I was being lazy, it was more a case of not being happy with my English accent.
I guess I have still a lot to learn, only been marketing for a year.

I'd have to agree with those that say it was the app you used that did it.

Even more frustration is trying to contact them. They make it almost impossible. You end up going round in circles on their help page.
I just don't know what to do next!

If I had to guess, that is why you got banned..

I had two YT accounts terminated this month and they were mostly just review videos that were done by fellow warriors here. High quality, no spam videos... just a quality review of an Amazon Product.

I did have a bit ly link in my YT description and bit ly has their own version of an Amazon shortened link... I'm wondering if my YT accounts were closed for having amazon links in the description?

Were the videos just for your use only or were they videos that others could purchase as well?

If there were others who also had rights to these videos then it's likely that the reason your account was closed was because there were other users out there that submitted the same video.

Making sure everything is 100% unique will sure help in the long run.

Just happen to me today too. Had purchased a bunch of review Amazon videos here. Uploaded a batch of 10 to a new keyword targeted YT account over the course of a week. The first batch of 5 had my own redirect link and a link to a Blog post. Got a little lazy with the second batch and just used a bit.ly link. Uploaded the 2nd batch over 2 days. Got 1 flagged by the 'YT Community?' each day, and they were the recent ones with the bit.ly links. The 'flagging' was virtually within hours of uploading.

      I'm suspended right now.

BTW, those videos were not uploaded as is, I had edited them a little, and added some extra content.
