Schools can now host virtual graduations on Microsoft Teams

Many events have transitioned to digital-only, and this includes academic graduations. Now, Microsoft announced in a blog a free and limited virtual graduation plan for any Microsoft 365 A1 faculty licence customers. The offer is valid only until July 1.

Per Microsoft:

"Users with the Microsoft Office 365 A1 faculty license, which is free for educational institutions, will have the ability to host and broadcast Teams live events for a limited time. That means users with A1 faculty licenses can host a virtual graduation, alumni summit, or any live event for up to 20,000 attendees, at no extra cost.
As mentioned, a virtual graduation ceremony is hosted on Microsoft Teams for up to 20,000 attendees, with a maximum event length of 16 hours.

Now if Microsoft can add a virtual cap toss...

Chime in.

Yes it can. I mean sure, it might not have all the usual LMS features, but MS Teams gets the job done.

I was pondering about the same. if a graduation ceremony can be hosted then why not have lessons conducted in the same fashion?

At least I am happy that Microsoft has found a solution even though intermittently.

sad and pathetic that people are reduced to being on par with a video game. What next I can hardly wait.
