Questions About Purchasing Existing Niche Site

Hello, I have some questions regarding this topic and any input is appreciated. First of all, where is the best place to purchase an existing niche site that is already amazon associates approved? Second, is it okay to transfer ownership of those sites to a new owner (myself)? Thanks and have a great weekend!

  • There are several places to buy existing websites, including flippa.com and empireflippers.com (a Google search will throw up others), but membership of the Amazon Associates program applies to the site owner, not the site.

Whatever the site status, you'll have to be approved for the Amazon program yourself.

    • Okay that makes sense although what happens to the site? Is it shut down temporarily until I am personally approved? I have an Amazon associates account already set up I just don't have any sites attached to it. I think it's still set up anyway??

  • Regardless of the platform you're thinking of buying a site from, make sure to VERIFY all traffic claims

You can use tools like semrush/ahrefs and others to see if the site has organic traffic from Google and other search engines

    • I agree with this poster.

Also, if they claim the site's got traffic and then give you this reason for selling it: "I don't have time to manage this site" - RUN! 99.9% of the time it's not the real reason why they are selling it.
  • You can try many websites go to FLIPPA, choose the domain and check it's backlink quality, DA, PA, DR and mainly SPAM SCORE before buying it.

  • I would recommend Flippa as well. Make sure it has a good domain name,
preferably a TLD and nothing spammy. Once you complete the purchase,
setup an account at the registrar and have the seller push the domain name
to your account. Hosting is separate and the seller should have a plan for
transferring the files or the Wordpress, be sure to ask your questions before
you complete the purchase. You can transfer the domain name and hosting
later on but you will want things in your control as quickly as possible after
you remit your payment. Change the links and add the new site to your
Amazon account or ask for new approval if your account has been closed.
Use your best judgment and you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck!
