Hi all just asking whether anyone knows a really good mentor someone who is from the UK so as regular contact is possible.

I would just like to be able to ask questions regarding niches I have chosen and whether they would be a good idea.

I don't know if it's the same as any other newbie but I have gathered a great deal of information, studied endlessly night after night but it is almost as if there is a mental block reagrding starting my site? Not sure if I have burned myslef out with all the different ideas or whether I am scared of failing Silly i know.

Anyway thanks for reading any feedback would be great.

  • This is called "analysis paralysis"...it's normal for new IMers to feel this way.

And this is called "information overload"...also something nearly every newbie experiences.

I'm not in the UK, but if you'd like to run your ideas by me via PM, I'd be glad to help you out, no charge!

    • Cool, I didn't know there were names for those things.

I just called the internet blues.

BTW, newbie or not, you can still get these problems.
  • Hi Gio

In addition to the above comment it's important to realise that a mentor does not have to be in the UK for you to have regular contact.

Everyone feels the way you are feeling initially so don't feel that you are unusual in that.

Try focussing hard in one area before moving to another project or product. The biggest mistake that newcomers make is to jump around from one thing to the next without ever completing any project fully.
  • What you are feeling is indeed something that all newbies experience, so don't make this mistake of feeling that you're not as gifted as others on the forum for example.

Internet marketing is purely about taking action and having determination. As hard as it sounds, you really aren't in the position to sit back and get depressed right now.

My advice would be to steer well clear of the guru stuff such as building a list, creating products etc. In my opinion, that stuff works very well but there's so much rehashed information and complete nonsense out there to cloud your vision that it would be wise keeping away.

There's a much easier way to make money online that is affiliate marketing. I'm going to make a recommendation here for Saj P's product Zero Friction Marketing. Personally, I thought it was awesome and it has fast-tracked my success in CPA and affiliate marketing. Another great product is George Brown's Google Sniper. They're both relatively similar concepts but if you combine the two you'll get great results.

Either way, you need to make sure that you first identify where your passion lies. Is it list building, is it CPA, is it setting-up Wordpress blogs or using PPC?

At the end of the day, you can buy all the products in the world and read up on all the various ways of doing IM etc, but if you aren't sure what you want to do yet, then you're not going to be able to implement anything!

Oh, and if you think "I just want to make money with this stuff" is the answer, then you're wrong. When I first got started I had this perspective and it got me nowhere! Honestly, spend a day learning what it is you want to do. It'll be more than worth it in the long run...

Good luck mate and stay positive.

    • Hey Gio

Some interesting feedback from fellow warriors...and heres my 2cents...

Conner I agree with some of your points, but disagree with some. Personally I believe a Mentor is someone whom can fast track your success, (I'd agree that stay clear from all the clutter out there) as many info products are re-hashed information (not all) but you get what I mean

But I believe like Gio says and I can identify with he needs someone to work with him in his business/niche or a system where he can easily contact and get feedback on what hes doing...and believe me..not only from my personal journey in internet marketing...but from teaching others online (including feedback) I have got..that is PRICELESS.

You can go buy a expensive course like $2999 Mass Control and still be left helpless, its not so much that the information being taught is irrelevant but having someone with experience to guide you through step by step until your making money by yourself.

I know of fellow marketers out there that have probably a FULL hard drive worth of courses and teaching material, yet struggling to make a dime online..(yes procrastination or lack of action can come into play)

BUT I certainly believe if your willing to invest in your education , you do have a passion to succeed...

So I totally agree with you Gio and can understand your point of view

  • just ask away here, there is a wealth of information people are willing to give you here,
  • As previously stated, there are many ways of going about creating an income online and all you need to do is pick one that you think you'd do well in and start getting as much information on that particular subject matter as best you can within 2 or 3 days and then when you pretty much have the 'gist' of how people are using that type of process, then kick procrastination in the ass and get to work! :-)

Many times over the last year or so I've seriously suffered from the "P word" and it wasn't until I had to really forced myself to just take what's in my head and use it to the best of my abilities, did I start seeing results.

Good luck to you in whatever path you decide to go with!

  • rather than look for someone to teach you everything they know. You'll probably have better results going out and trying for yourself. Regardless of whether you are trained or you started on your own, someday you're doing this yourself, or for a company, and the more often you make mistakes now, the more money you'll save later.
