i am thinking of starting a new local agency

for those experts here who are already doing such, my question is ....

what amount of money should i expect to spend every day in advertising to attract new clients?

i'm guessing google ads are they way to go to get clients, so should i be expecting to spend $20 a day, or $200 a day on google ads (not that i can afford the latter yet)

thank you

stay well and keep healthy

I can't tell you what your budget should be but you might
consider advertising in local publications, maybe even
    radio and television.

So, why not go make friends on Linkedin? It requires time, not money.

Or join facebook groups... And make friends... That means do not spam, but help.

If you're going the local route, look into groups in your area. See if you can join and present on a topic. These groups are always looking for speakers.
    - Chambers of Commerce
    - Toastmasters
    - Local Trade Associations
    - Professional Business Organizations

I am going to be blunt here. Look at what you are wanting to do... Start an agency for local business' to help attract more business. and then you turn right around and "guess" you will use Google Ads. Really think about that for a moment.

I run a "Local Agency", I do NOT use Google Ads to get business.

Forget the business for a moment and understand exactly what you need to be doing. You are wanting to start an Ad agency that happens to service local business'. Sounds very similar to what you are suggesting but they are worlds apart.

YOU need to be in the business of YOU and getting YOU ( your business ) in front of as many eyes as you can. Google ads is a piece of a whole. Once you understand how to get YOU in front of people. The people you want to get in front of will already be there.. and wanting you to replicate your success

Think about this: I have 1,000,000 boxes of Borax soap to sell. Am I going to place all 1,000,000 in one store to sell, or am I going to place 100,000 in each of 10 stores?

You say Google Ads, DABK says LinkedIn and Facebook.. I say Instagram Facebook, Facebook market place, Craigslist, LinkedIn, snap chat, Tik Tok, your local newspaper ( first paid ad )

In this twisted and fake world that we live and work in the size of your social reach will dictate many things in your desire to become a local agency. Build a social media base about your community - the community you want to serve and let the chips fall as they may.

The less you SELL the more you will make. Become a local "Influencer" that happens to have skills.

I wish people could see how OVERLOOKED this is...
This is the first nugget of gold I've seen here in a minute. Not rah-rah foolishness but something that speaks to the reality of creating a BUSINESS...not some instant dance craze.

Unfortunately, that seems to be how many of us start out in the marketing space. Like this OP, we try to 'Fake-It-Til-We-Make-It'...that is until we come face to face with REAL people with REAL budgets who need REAL results. Those folks seem to have an obsession with a little thing called sales. Go figure.

Anywho, it's clear from this post that savidge4 is a real business owner. OP: Please heed the advice of REAL business owners.

You need to try with Facebook advertising targeted to your local area or city/region, and also check for your local business connections that might be on the Linkedin so you can connect with them, and generate business.
Advertising in the local newspapers is also a good way to generate some business provided your ad copy can convince them to call you.
Direct mail never fails to bring home results so why not try direct mail and see what results you can achieve.
And lastly if you are not shy then better go and visit your local businesses and talk face to face with the owners there..

Use ads to top off your efforts in the beginning. How many people can you offer your services to every day on the phone, linkedin, Facebook, local classifieds, filling out contact forms, emailing.

That should line you up with a couple clients to get case studies rolling. Use ads to point people to your case studies and grow from there.

  • Your advertising budget dictates what you are going to achieve with your advertising campaigns.

Start with whatever budget you feel comfortable spending per day, and reinvest into bigger daily spends until you've reached your desired profit margins.

Google ads is rather expensive for most agencies.

What is your agency specialising in? I hope not client acquisition

Start with $5 per day, then move to $10 and so forth. If the respond is good and you are seeing returns, you an pump in more money.

Your Google Ads daily budget is mainly depend on:

    1) Your competition - No of competitors who advertise for the same keywords by targeting the same location and how much they are willing to spend.

    2) Performance of your campaigns - Better Quality Scores helps you to reduce the CPC.

    3) Quality of your landing pages.
