Is it ok to add a link to my website in the comments section of a YouTube video?

While doing research on a product that my product integrates with, I realized it would be great to add a comment about exactly that and adding a link back to my website. First off, is this even allowed? Second, any suggestions on doing it in a non-spammy way? And third, hope this isn't a stupid question but will this help with SEO?
Thanks in advance for the help!

It's usually done in a spammy way and authors don't appreciate self promotional links to their "assets".

Either create your own video where others comment about your widget and link back to your website right in the description. I say hold on to your hat and don't do it.

  • It is better not to post the link in the youtube comment section. Create your own video and mention your links there.

Adding Links in the comments can be termed as spam .
Can serve for temporary ,but for long run may not serve the purpose.

    Thanks

If you post your link it will probably be
removed. I would advise you to read
a couple of books on ways to promote
yourself in a more professional manner
so that your efforts will result in quality
    traffic and leads.

I wouldn't just post a website link in my YouTube description area unless it is relevant and valuable to my viewers 2 Uf Some one asks question and I have the answer I leave a link to blog or youtube video that has the answer.Tty not to pitch product links. If you respond or sell leave the name of your blog or channel etc.

I've analyzed several hundred comments for a marketing campaign and here are my findings

    0) Pick the right videos to comment on. They have to be
    - niche specific
    - topic specific
    - raise needs that your content/promoted product addresses

    1) Your #1 objective is to make sure your comment doesn't get removed and is visible.

Achieving BOTH is quite a feat... but it CAN be done if you do the following

    2) Make sure your comment actually talks about the video's content

    3) Make sure there's a NATURAL segue between the topic of the video and the site you're promoting

    4) Make your case as to why the content or site you're promoting ADDS VALUE to the issues / problems / needs raised by the video you're commenting on

    5) Maximize the 'survivability' of your comment by NOT POSTING LINKS but just the domain name without the .COM or, better yet, the BRAND NAME of your content site

This works well because ONLY SERIOUS people would bother to type in your brand name into Google to click through your site

Adding such links to the YouTube comments section looks spammy and may subject you to a sort of penalty which isn't going to be favorable. The best thing you could do to be on the safer side is to create a personal video and add a link back to your product page in your video description.

May be you can also contact the video owners and ask them to put your link in description ( for a fee or commission per sale) could work perhaps, if mutually beneficial to both.

The only way to do it in a nonspammy way is to not drop links.

When I go through comments on my channels, if I see a link, I immediately mark it as spam. If enough people do that on your comments, you'll end up getting automatically filtered out when you leave comments. If it happens a ton, YouTube may shut your account down.

You can add the link in an appealing manner by combining it with a drafted message to grab their attention. It is common for people to do this, so it won't be considered spamming.

I would say don't do it. Wait for someone else to link to your video on other channel's youtube handle.
Or you could make a video to discuss that point and link to that in the description.

I would say not to put the link in the comments box as its considered spam and not very effective.
Instead add valuable comments to a standard that readers likes to book mark and look at your profile.

You can put a link to your site in the Profile signature area and by this way many will find a way to your site. Hope it helps.

You may add relevant link to other internet resources to add value to the post where you may have for example a blog post that explain detail to add value to the video with relevant comments. You can have a link in that blog to what you are offering.

This is a better way of getting targeted traffic that could really convert as well.
