Do Clickbank require you to show proof of testimonials?

Hi all,

I am listing an item of Clickbank and they replied saying the following:

"In regard to the testimonials, please keep the following in mind:

Videos and testimonials containing actual customers telling their actual story are permitted. Any claims contained and testimonials in your promotional material (Pitch Page, video Pitch etc.) must be able to be substantiated.

Please ensure that you have documentation from any testimonials or endorsements on hand in the event a regulatory agency would want proof that the story is a customer's actual experience."

I am wondering, will Clickbank request you to show them the documentation of the testimonials or is it just a reminder?

This is my first time listing on Clickbank and I don't know how they work.

    The quote above answers the question you are asking. If you use videos or testimonials....be prepared to provide substantiation of the claims IF YOU ARE ASKED TO DO SO.

    As a Clickbank affiliate, I always make fun of vendors' "testimonials" and warn prospects that even if some are true, these are usually the exceptions. The only testimonials that really matter are my own. Usually I can even get authorization from Clickbank vendors for direct linking to their payment page from my own FTC-compliant sales copy.

    clickbank is not what you have to worry about ..it is government agencies that have regulations on the use of testimonials ..

    i am not sure if it is the FCC or the FTC that covers those regulation in the US ..but that sound like the rules they Use and it's possible the EU and othere countries have similar rules against using false testimonials ..

    there are laws and regulations regarding the use of testimonials and the requirement to prove they are real..that is what clickbank is telling you..just make sure you have the proper documentation..when those regulators come knocking ..emailing ..or freeze you bank account untill you get in touch with them ..

    Typically the definition of a testimonial revolves around a customer giving a fare assessment of a product or service. So I don't think it provides rooms for phoney stories.

    99% of all testimonials online are fake. Its like a commercial on TV, nothing more.

    Only upset customers do give reviews...and those are bad reviews. Happy customers simply move on. So if 1 out of 100 people is not satisfied, you may end up with only 1 review online...the negative one.
