One large authority site or smaller mini sites linked?

I would like some feedback as to whether you think that one large site is better or is it better to split the content into maybe twenty mini sites?
Any imput would be very much appreciatted.

    Test,

    twenty in one niche, no

    start with a smaller number and test it against the larger site

    you will only know if you test, no one can ever tell you which one is better what works for one does not always work for someone else

      If the niche is big enough, X amount of work put into a single large site will yield more results than the same X amount of work spread across multiple smaller sites in the same niche.

      The reason is that the marketing work begins to compound if it is focused on one site.
