Aweber Users - How Would You Do This???

Hello All,

I have a question for aweber users. I have recently noticed that aweber has added an audio file to their thank you page reminding people to check their email and reconfirm.

I started with them before this audio file was in place. So what I would do is when I set up the web form in aweber I set the thank you page to be the homepage(salespage) where they came from so they can go right back to reading the salesletter they were reading before they opted in and maybe I can get the sale. So on the optin form I simply remind them to reconfirm their subscription later when they can.

Which method do you aweber users like better?

1.-Like I'm doing it above where I tell them to reconfirm later and then redirect them back to the homepage(same page they were at when they opted in).

or

2.-Use the aweber thank you page set to open in a new window. This allows them to hear the aweber audio reminding them to reconfirm and when they close that window they are back on my website where they came from and can continue reading the sales page.

Does anyone have any preference or any reason why one method is better than the other? Does anyone think the aweber audio is helping you get more reconfirms?

Thanks,
Mike

    Hi Mike -

In my niche(s), auto play audio is a HUGE No-no (too many folks logging on at work), so I ended up creating my own thank you pages.

To save myself time and effort time, I created two versions, a branded version and a generic version... Later on, I may add other targeted/branded thank you pages as appropriate.

The classic answer would be: none of the above (to the OP).

If you use an optin form on a sales page, I would strongly recommend to use something like Robert Plank's "action-optin" script.

PM me if you want to see a live 'demo'.

I use this method with a lot of success...

    1. Opt in Page

    2. Thank you for subscribing (Top in big letters confirm your email to download your product) Include some special offers on this page as well

    3. When confirmation email is clicked it takes them to the download page with the PDF and then also shows a few special offers again

    4. 1st email is sent to them right away thanking them for joining and gives them the link to download the product encase they need it later on.

On part 2 you can always add your own voice or theirs by inputting it on the page. Takes a bit more work however it looks more professional and may end up landing you an extra sale or two on the thank you pages. Once your set up you do not even have to mess with it again.

I think it's impossible to say what method works best, you simply must test...

Set up a split tester and see which option yields the most conversions.

I prefer a thank you page with a message to check their email. The audio is dependant on whether they have speakers on.
