Does anyone here use Patreon?

I'm looking to build a couple new revenue streams for my business, and I'm thinking that starting a Patreon would be a great way to get some recurring income.

I could also do this on my own website using Memberpress, which I already use for my courses, but something about Patreon just seems more "friendly" then paying a monthly membership fee to a website. The Patreon fees are the same as the PayPal or Stripe fees that I get charged per sale too (if I were to host on my own website).

Also, I'm what type of content do you put on there?

Thanks!

I use Patreon for one of my podcasts. I thought the fees were actually higher than PayPal. I was under the impression that PayPal owned them and they charged more based on the software that they have on the back end on top of the payment processing. They just started having to charge sales tax based on where your donors are and what types of rewards you offer, but I believe that is passed on to the patron.

I actually pulled my rewards officially because I primarily get donations to my work on there and didn't want to go through what looked like a clunky process for their sales tax on the back end. My podcast helps people shunned by cults. So it may be absolutely nothing like what you are doing. I do think that people like the thought of Patreon and the rewards and such. It has a positive association in people's minds.
