Microsoft announces end of support for legacy Edge

Microsoft's legacy Edge browser will stop receiving updates and support on March 9, 2021, according to Microsoft. This Edge is Microsoft's then-successor to Internet Explorer, and is built on their proprietary EdgeHTML and Chakra JavaScript engine. I'm not expecting users to be affected by this, as most users are now using the new Chromium-based Edge that uses less RAM than Google's own Chrome, but is just as fast.

  • Nobody uses it anyways...
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • lol I dont wanna sound mean but personally I DONT KNOW ANYONE who is using it.
  • I've used Edge, but I am still like Chrome. Because I am so familiar with Chrome.
  • That certainly isn't my experience with it. Quite the opposite in fact.
  • Legacy edge? You mean Brave, sure l have it installed, and it isn't bad considering it is designed for w10.

  • Right now i don't think people take this news seriously...
  • Only the most diehard Microsoft fan would have used this product after the mess that was Internet Explorer and those (that) fan would have already probably upgraded.
  • The old Edge sucked. The new Edge rocks.

  • The most useless application all you have in your desktop and laptop....
  • I've been pretty happy with the new Edge. Microsoft has stepped up their game a lot in the last couple of years.
