Innovation appears to be taking the center stage in internet marketing. Podcasts are becoming increasingly common as Influencers use new tactics to take internet marketing to the next level. What are some of the trends/innovations we should expect in internet marketing the last quarter of 2020?

Chatbots for customer service, high-quality/tailored content (videos/images/SEO), and more personalized email campaigns, to name a few.

It means that email marketing is not going away any sooner. So marketers must work hardto personalize them right?

This isn't innovative by any means, but my guess would be you'll see a lot more companies using text messaging.

For example, Verizon will not stop texting me with random offers here and there.

I think voice search will continue to grow because it's convenient and basic to use.

They are going to release CyberPunk in November, I wonder how many internet marketers will be distracted.

I guess marketers will not get distructed. Instead, they will find a way to leverage Cyperpunk to take marketing to the next level.

Thunk diffrent ... unless there be innovation, how will IM (or anythin') change?

Novelty is the currency of progress.

So that is my first suggestion for Mindy.

      Shipping is a huge topic.

Can I say the words Postal Chaos? Now imagine Christmas or the people that get meds in the mail and cash.

don't use the postal service to send packages .. fed ex or UPS ..

Amazon has it's own shipping network at this point ..

The VA is sending out 3 months of meds at a time for now ..

And direct deposit or paypal or some money sending service to send cash .. that needs to get there ..

if you need to Mail something .. go to the post office and mail it there1 -2 weeks early .. not a complicated thing ..

as for the theme of the thread ..people are buying a lot of things online .. that 6 months and before they only would buy in stores .. many innovations offline .. with automation .. delivery drones and more production coming back to the USA .. or AT least north america .. there are already clothing companies online using cell phone apps to take photos of your body and send it to them and they can cutome make the clothing and send it to you in a short time ..they are probably Using sewbot or automated clothing manufacturing machines/robots ..

more and more innovations are getting tied together if you are making and delivering food or offering it for pick up and you want to take things to the next levelput a camera system over your food preperations area ..so that when the customer order the food they can watch you make it streaming it online ..and watch it go in the over ...then be notified when it comes our and it is ready to be picked up or delivered ..

the innovations are there for the producer who can Use the internet to MArket their products .. to get the consumer involved or spectating through the process ..

The USPS has lost $78 billion in the past 13 years and is rescued every time it desperately needs money.... before each 'rescue' there are media stories and all sorts of claims - then the post office gets bailed out and we hear little more till next time.

This thread is about 'innovation' and the US post office has been severely lacking in innovation for many years.

What is missing this year is the usual demand that the post office begin operating as a business - charging what is necessary and cutting costs where needed to at least break even. It is an interesting study - this is what happens when a business can count on being rescued financially time after time. There is no incentive to improve, to streamline, to downsize. There have been attempts to downsize in the past - very small branch offices were closed, etc....but nothing close to what is needed to make the service self sustaining.

Many years ago both Federal Express and UPS wanted to start a 'postal service' and were not permitted to do so as the USPS has the only service of its kind permitted. Even so, if I'm sending a time sensitive contract I'll use FedEx.

Is it possible for the USPS to do the same thing that Germany did with their postal system and DHL? They're super efficient, really profitable, and they're able to service even the rural areas.

I'm interested in seeing the role technologies like GPT-3 may play in an Internet Marketer's toolbox. Don't think it'll displace any copywriters worth their salt any time soon, but do think, with the right prompt, it could play a part in dramatically speeding up/automating the creation of short creative writing/content (tweets, texts, etc)

the copywrite worth their salt who can use the best automation to produce decent text ..documents..then can take that and add their touch..once they figure out that what the people they farm out work to are doing ....

the skilled people will be more productive ..and possible make more money while the low skilled people will be stuck serving the cheap customers who cant afford or figure how to use the programs on their own..

when a computer can simulate a voice i want to listen to over a human..maybe it can generate text i would read over a human..

or if you see the quality of my write improve by a few orders of magnitude ..you know i am using an AI text generator

GPT-3 is scarily good. I read that it wrote an article that made it to the front page of Hackernoon using some simple prompts. It generated an article that read like it was written by an expert.

Like most, I've tested different tools like Articleforge and article spinners but the quality was always garbage. GPT-3 is the only tool I've seen that provides a convincing imitation of a human writer.

If anyone is curious, here's a link to the demo page:

      https://beta.openai.com/

And here's a text adventure game that uses the API:

Fascinating stuff! Love the positive bent to it all as well; a nice change of pace from the typical doom and gloom. Some of this stuff would've sounded crazy a few years ago, but the fact that most of this technology (3d printing, 5g, advanced robotics, etc) is already here and rapidly evolving makes me think we're *really* about to step on the pedal with a lot of it.

well the advanced carbon sequestering techs .. are actually farming practices that build soil an inch every few years instead of an inch every thousand years ...sequester carbon in the form of biomass in the soil and the soil retains far more water and nutrients and a rich ecosystem that grow healther plants with no artificial chemical inputs ..

and even with conventional large scale mono cropping .. the automated rigs that can go over a field .. identify weed and apply herbicide. identify the crop and apply fertilizer . and identify a bug and hit it with insecticide .. resulting in better crops with 90 percent of the tradition inputs .

the convoluted food supply network we where using before covid that literally wasted more than half of the produce grown was behind most of our excess carbon emissions ,water use and land use ..

i don't know the exact numbers but for every calorie we consume .. like 10-30 calories of oil was used to grow and ship that 1 calorie .. with a major amount of topsoil loss with the carbon in that soil vaporizing into the atmosphere ..

imagine we get to the point where the local produce farmer ..instead of haveing to take his/her pruduce to a Market set it out under a video display .. and you buy it from your home .. they put it in a box with say minum orders of 10 or 20 pounds .. of produce ..

they put the box in a dron and a half hour later the drone has droped it at your door and you are unpacking it ..knowing only the farmers hand and your hands have touched the produce ..

and in construction the push is going to passive homes which use 90 percent less energy to heat and cool ..

future office building will have greenhouses on the top level with hydroponic grow towers ..giveing the workers in the building a regular source of fresh produce

now as to the wealth gap .. there will be an explosion of ways to build wealth ,, there already is .. the people with wealth can not be faulted for those unwilling to use the many tools that are being made available every day ..

LOVE this thought/idea ... sort of a portable Farmer's Market accessible to more and more people

I find this very interesting and have thought about it myself. Feels like this technology (coupled, perhaps with "tiny houses" and possibly non-coastal states "inviting" people to live there via less taxation or other incentives) could be a game-changer for many families...

i have been struggling for a few days to respond ..it is just amazing the variety of house types there are to build now outside the stick frame construction ..the change in the games is from one standard model .. to a more custom model based on tastes ..

as more and more people bring how the make their money .. basically to the house they live in or the land they live on ....

there is an ever increasing number of people using the interent to earn incomes .. but the are not doing it to become rich .. or financially independent .. nor are they going to work 13 hours a day ,, they will use the internet to make enough money to have the lifestyle they want .. without having to spend a half hour in the car or more fighting traffic ever day to work a job..

Indeed. Pretty fascinating shift set to take place that's exciting and whose effects are hard to predict. As a parent of a toddler, also makes me really wish schools taught more about the ins and outs of internet-based business and entrepreneurial-ship (alternatively, drives home the need for me / my wife to do this ourselves!). Seems skills related to that are the true toolbox one will need to survive and thrive in the coming decades.

you can start homeschooling at 4 or 5 years old ..if you or your wife are working from home ..and don't need the free daycare the school system provides

the shift is taking place it is just speeding up radically .the are just so many options appearing ..there will be a UBI soon ..survival will be covered.. thriving is up to the individual..

today if life hands you lemons .. you can learn to make ceviche ..
in a few years most college courses will be available online as well ..for far lower costs than sending a student to college ..so homeschooled kids might actually have a few degrees by the time they are 18 ..

so what happen to a parent who buys a couple acres of land for their small child now .. and instead of trying to save up the 600,000 USD a traditional college education will cost in 15 years .. home school the child .. teach them entrepreneurial skills .. or at least the skills to run a solo business with no employees with great margins .. ..

so by 18 the child become an adult with one or two degrees .. and has made the money to build a small house on the land .. with no debt ..

i know its a fairy tail .. right

I think that more than ever before, internet marketing will rise to new heights with everything that takes place right now worldwide.

This covid19, whatever your opinion is on this topic, will CHANGE things forever. People works more from home, online e-commerce and shopping is on the rise.

Therefore, I think that businesses has no other choice but to focus on their online presence and that's why I think that in the next months and years we might see major improvement on services / products / offers available in the online sphere to allow businesses to grow their business but in a slighly different way.

Sure, the trouble is that the senders hardly research to find out if the recipient are inneed of the product or service they market.
